It does its core job, but comes with a host of issues:- it's impossible to use an external lapel mic as there is a terrible hum on the recording; I guess that's because those mic cables are unshielded but it's a problem I did not expect- phone charging (iPhone 12 Pro Max) doesn't work at all- transmitter charging doesn't work with USB C chargers; only USB A > USB C cables work! How medieval 😅- way too many buttons with no status indicators; I can't use the device with peace of mind if I can't tell if my recording is good or maybe I'm using the baby voice effect and a wrong gain setting- the phone connector adapter is super tight which makes it comes off the device if the receiver is disconnected from the phone the wrong way- the deadcat clip is so flimsy it comes off if you as much as look at it the wrong way (using deadcat from my Shure mic is a workaround but it's so large it looks rather silly)- did I mention way too many buttons? They are protruding and too easy to press. Even during my testing I accidentally activated the mute option at least three times.On the plus side, it does sound OK and mostly works with DJI OM 5 gimbal if you position the phone slightly off-center to make space for the dongle. I say 'mostly' because you can't go all directions with it but it's good enough for basic moves.

I am reasonably satisfied with this microphone when one is recording music the quality is a little bit suspect, but I would not put anyone off purchasing this product. I think it is definitely worth the money for what one gets, however, I must warn you, the customer service is useless. The dead cat is so shoddy and of appalling quality, it just does not fit on the transmitter. I did ask them for a second dead cat which I would pay for, but they said they could not supply this and now the inevitable has happened, I have lost it, so be warned, the product is worth of money, however, If you have any problems with the product the customer service will not help you and also you will most definitely lose your dead cat because the quality of this is an absolute disgrace.UPDATE- I have just received a letter from the customer service department, they said they are going to deal with this immediately, so let us just put the original customer service response as a misunderstanding. My update on this product apart from the dead cat which I have lost as you know is very positive. I have now used this for live broadcast in very windy conditions and I can categorically and unequivocally say it is truly remarkable, indeed one of the days I filmed, it would have been impossible under normal circumstances because of the very strong winds and this is the reason why I bought this product because if you have bad audio in your videos it is unprofessional and also it does not matter how good your video is, if the audio is bad, the video and all your time and effort are wasted. So if you are a Vlogger and have the problem that most of us have with windy conditions destroying videos do not hesitate to buy this product, I will stand by my comments. I could not believe when I got home, how clear everything was, and yet on this very windy day when one usually would not be able to film. Solve the problem with the fitting of the dead cat, and you will have a high-quality product.I was asked by them to give my review another star which is something I would never do unless I felt it was justified. Therefore, I have taken a star off because I think this request is unacceptable and I will never be bought with inducements because this would be dishonest.

I received a faulty item couldn’t test receiver will not charge

Ok. So I wanted a wireless microphone and a friend recommended this one. When I opened it and set it up, I was quite impressed at the sound quality especially in the wind. However there is a voice changing feature but there is nothing to say what setting it is on. Imagine my annoyance when I had a clip with a squeaky voice. It did make a good blooper though… the biggest problem though is the build quality of the connector to the phone. It is very flimsy and if you’re not careful bends easily. I was very careful in the handful of times I used it but the last time I noticed the connector was bent and had stopped working. I think this is due to the build quality and for the price is a bit disappointing.However I contacted customer service and a very kind lady asked for my address so the item could be replaced. She sent out a replacement. Very impressed with this as I had just wanted a new adaptor (but this on its own wasn’t available).Overall, I feel the product feels a bit cheap and flimsy. When it works it is absolutely 10/10 fantastic quality and sounds great, but the build quality could use some looking at. 10/10 for customer support though, very impressed.

I've been testing microphones for my iPhone 12 all week and I have to say that this wireless microphone from SYNCO is the best one yet! The audio quality is great with only the tiniest amount of hiss (which cleans up perfectly in seconds using ByeNoise App @ £4.99). The end result is crystal clear spoken vocal audio for use on blogging / social etc, which is my intended destination for these recordings.The icing on the cake really comes in the form of the gain boost function and the ability to plug in a wired TRS lapel microphone if you need / want that level of control and flexibility. I imagine that ultimately I WILL pair the transmitter with a lapel mic but the onboard mic on the transmitter sounds great straight out of the box!!Setup was a breeze, it paired in 2 seconds and was ready to go. The monitoring audio out jack is super handy to check what you're recording sounds like and all in all, this is one fantastic wireless microphone option for iPhone. It's a keeper and will now become my regular work horse for spoken audio recordings.Great job SYNCO, I'm REALLY pleased with this one!!
