Guitar Worship - Method Book 1: Learn to Play by Strumming Praise Songs

This book is a bit misleading. There are no praise songs that you've ever heard in it. Instead, the author is using some simple praise songs to teach strumming technique and basic chords. It's well worth working through all the exercises if you're a beginner. Strumming is such an important skill and I find the author's exercises really help build precision and timing.A beginner could easily work through the whole book in a couple of nights. They're level of playing cannot help but increase if they do so. It would make a very good first series of lessons for a new player.I've spent over a month working through the book over and over and my strumming is becoming more polished. I thank the author for raising the level of my playing with his simple methods. There's no reason to believe I won't be going through the book four or five times and still picking up little bits here and there. Music, the more you learn the more you don't know...

I teach guitar and this is the only book I use Guitar Worship - Method Book 1, Book2, Song Book 1 and Song Book 2.Just be patient and practices slowly every other days. Speed will come but start slowly. Down load all the tracks from the web site the books tell you from. Do not rush, practices take time and use the tracks too, you will get Their. Good Luck.JRL

The songs in this book are not known christian songs. None of the songs on here are christian songs that we sing in church or hear on the radio which is what I assumed I was buying. I'm guessing the author of the book made up all of these songs.

This is a great book to have for beginners to get started with. Makes learning fun and easy for even the most timid.

So far so good

I am a true beginner and was so excited to be playing along with praise songs (very short but very good) the first day!!! CD was wonderful! The strumming lessons made the songs fun! My family didn't even scurry off for ear plugs!! Great product and I highly recommend it for the true beginner like me!
