*** Update***Ordered a second one of these in beige. The company sent us a "standard" version instead of the premium. Standard has square legs and is considerably less sturdy. So, we returned the canopy to Amazon and bought one directly from the Eurmax.*** Original Review***We graduated from multiple beach umbrellas to a canopy as our family grew, and after much research we settled on the premium 10' x 10' from Eurmax. Having watched other families lose their big-box canopies to the sudden high winds that can unexpectedly whip up on the beach, we wanted something more heavy duty that could be securely and easily anchored in place. After three years of heavy use, the octagonal steel legs of this canopy have stood the test of time, easily enduring wind gusts in the upper 20's while we watched other families canopies and umbrellas collapse or blow over. We purchased a set of wrap-around sandbags (one for each leg) that hold approximately 10 lbs of damp sand, and they secure the canopy solidly in place. Setup is a breeze, you simply stand the canopy up and unfold it accordion-style, taking less than 60 seconds for two people, or 1-2 minutes if you are by yourself. The height of the canopy can be easily adjusted between two settings (~5'6" or 7' using spring-loaded thumb clips). The D rings on each corner can be used for tie-down ropes, but we use them to hang things from since we use sandbags instead of tie-downs. The frame is super sturdy and provides enough shade for 6 beach chairs, two beach tables, and various coolers and bags. And there is also plenty of room for hanging towels and other items on the frame. Finally, takedown is a snap - you just reverse the setup process and the entire canopy (including frame and tarp) can be stored fully assembled in the roller bag, which makes transport a breeze. I can't say enough good things about this canopy. Yes, its a little more expensive than what you get at a big-box store, but the security, stability, and peace of mind have been well worth the price.

I got the 10 x 15 canopy tent in purple. If you are looking at this canopy you know it is not cheap. In my experience though it is worth the expense if you want a canopy that will last. Every aspect of this item is built to a higher level of durability than any of the typical basic canopies I have ever used. I got this canopy for a mid sized festival I have been involved with for several years. I wanted to get something a bit bigger and more sturdy than the standard 10 x 10 we had been using. I got it in purple as that is a festive color. The unit arrived in the quoted time frame and in good shape. This is a heavy duty canopy all the way around. You'll realize that as soon as you pick it up and feel the heft of it's weight. The frame legs are not the typical square shape but rather 6 sided and very thick and strong. No casual wind or pressure is going to bend or collapse these legs. You can feel the heft and quality of them. The locking mechanism and release levers are robust as well with a very firm and positive lock to it when it clicks in place. The overhead frame is also a significant step above most of the typical canopy frames you will encounter and I wouldn't hesitate to hang reasonable weighted items from the internal frame. Just use common sense. The canopy itself is a very heavy and dense material that provides good shade as well as UV protection. The color is vibrant and festive. The inside lip of the canopy is lined all the way around with a heavy strip of velco a couple inches wide which would make it easy to secure pouches, banners or decorations with a velcro back. Our festival did see a few periods of heavy rains last year and the fabric held up like a champ keeping us dry. Do be aware that like many canopies water builds in pools between the supports and when it gets to a certain level will pour over the edge from time to time. I learned quickly not to stand near the edge as when it releases the water a fair amount pours over the edge. I do not know if this can be engineered out of the design or not but after one good soaking I learned not to stand just under the edge of the canopy. The storage and transport bag is also very robust with a very heavy fabric that is not going to damage easily. The wheels are designed very robust and with good size to make transport easily. The wheels very easily rolled over an average field with no trouble. Given the weight of this item the robust wheels are a necessity and I was glad the company did not neglect this requirement. The zipper is also very heavy and robust. It opens and closes easily and allows easy access to get the frame and canopy back in the bag. Zippers on canopy bags are a high failure item and I feel this zipper will hold up very well as long as you do not over stuff the bag. This will require neatly refolding the canopy to place it back in the bag. I am very pleased with the quality of this canopy and expect it too last for many years to come. I have included a couple picks after the first test set up at my home prior to our festival. The banner hanging on the tent is not included and was ordered from a different company.

While it is a bit on the heavy side, it is a great canopy. With canopies, you have a choice...do you want light weight which sacrifices durability or do you want durability which at the cost of added weight? We had been using a previous canopy by a different manufacturer...similar in style as a Instant Pop Up design. While camping, a friend tripped, grabbed the canopy and the leg folded. So, when researching a new canopy, we discovered the Eurmax. This is the most robust canopy I have seen. The steel, hex leg design is extremely strong. The truss work is also very strong...I can actually do a pull up on it without it bending, bowing or anything. The material is thick and sturdy and holds up to the weather very well. The seams are stitched, glued and heat sealed. Add walls and you have a canopy that can keep you warm and dry in cold, wet weather. Remove walls and you have a nice open canopy that provides great visibility and shade during warm weather. The nylon straps for tying it down along with the stakes are great for holding it in place. I don't know that I would use it in really strong winds but on breezy days those stakes should hold well. The carrying bag is awesome. It actually works...not like those bags that are barely big enough to fit when everything comes from the factory and then once you use it you struggle to get it back in, the Eurmax bag actually fits, it is heavy duty and works like a dolly for moving it. It has large wheels to roll over small rocks and grass, heavy duty zippers that don't get messed up after using it a few times. We first bought a 10x10 model (which we have had for 3 years) but liked it so much, we went and bought a 2nd 10x15 model for camping with our teardrop. Well worth the money. As mentioned, the only real drawback is the weight but it's the weight and materials used that make this so sturdy. Don't waste money on a cheap canopy, spend a bit more and get one of these instead, you will be glad you did.
