The SVALT D2 does the trick, it keeps the laptop’s built-in fans from going like mad when editing photos and movies on a top of the line refurbished 2015 MacBook Pro we just picked up. The level of control over the fan is welcome and makes it easy to find a setting that works best, which after trying out the various settings was the customizable fixed speed. We use our laptops closed a lot of the time and we want this new laptop to last a decade like our other MacBook Pros, so the D2 is worth the investment to make sure we don’t fry components and get all of the performance we can when pushing it.
