.com Big Bird and Telly Monster lead young viewers through the alphabet, letter by letter, in a magical and imaginative half-hour discovery of letters and their sounds. The perfect tape for young Sesame Street fans who are just beginning to get the hang of what letters are all about, it includes short skits, songs, and other bits of business--some original, some culled from the Sesame Street show--featuring a variety of Muppet characters as well as the human residents of that famously educational thoroughfare. --Marshall Fine

Just as I remembered it!
I had this on VHS as a child and now my toddler requests it daily. It’s just as special now as it was 30 years ago.

Nice but little disappointed...
My child loves the DVD and always asks to watch it; there are few songs or scenes for each letter. However, it stops at the letter ‘P’

Some wonderful favorites on here
This is a great DVD, and I sure remember learning my alphabet and letter sounds on Sesame Street! The reason I give it only 4 stars is some letters are rushed through, while others have skits to go with them. For example, "M" has both Kermit teaching children how to draw it with their "pointy finger" (love that!), and Cookie and Herry doing the "MMMM" song. But other letters just get mentioned with a couple of words they start with, and then it's on to the next letter. Of course, this is for the sake of time and attention span. I would rather see MORE skits... I think it's better to reinforce the sound and learning of the letter. But overall, a great DVD with some fun memories if you are an "old school" Sesame Street fan, like me!

Love Sesame Street
I grew up with Sesame Street in the 80's, watching is how I learned how to count and my alphabet. Having preschool aged children of my own now, one of which had been struggling and after exhausting other options and going to preschool hasn't helped much at all, I decided, what the heck, I'll buy this dvd and we can watch it while in the car, they're sitting still and will pay more attention. Within a week my son was able to recite his alphabet! I also purchased the Count with Ernie and he's counting to 20, before he struggle to get to 10! Love Sesame Street!!

Quality not great
These movies are pretty old (year-wise) - but I would have thought with today's tech that the movies would be clearer. But, it does what it's supposed to, entertain the kiddos!

Good for teaching kids their ABC's
This video is very good for eaching kids their ABC's my son is in lobe with it. He started watching it at an early age and started singing his ABC"s at 18months. However i don't like the song they used for letter "M". "M is for monster, M is for monster like me." I mean there are so many words in the dictionary that start with M and are easy for toddlers to pronounce. It's not appropriate for children to be singing songs saying that they are monsters. That's the only thing i don't like about this CD. Other than that, it's awesome for teaching kids their ABC's

Great, like all older Sesame Street. But this only covers A-P. What about QRSTUVWXYZ?
We love Sesame Street. Children's programming these days is so quickly edited and action-packed I'm sure it leads children to have short attention spans. Not these, and our 4yo daughter loved it. The DVD starts with the alphabet song, then there's a skit or cartoon for every letter up to and including P. But I was shocked when it stopped there. There were no skits for QRSTUVWXY or Z. If not for the alphabet song if children didn't know better this DVD might lead them to believe the alphabet doesn't include its last 10 letters. I was very disappointed and surprised a Sesame Street DVD would do that. It would have been 5 stars otherwise.

Discover letters
This is the first video for learning the alphabet. Seasame fallows sing and talk stories about each letter from A-Z. Each letter is introduced different way which keeps your child interested all the time in what is happening on the screen. The essence of sesame street's ABC's adventure.

Older version of sesame street
I didnt realise this dvd is an older version of sesame street. Like 1960's old. If the kids dobt notice or care about that then it's all good. They still learn their ABC's

Its oay
In a bid to amuse my little boy, I bought this dvd as my original video was thrown away some 12 years ago when I thought I was done with Sesame Street, however, he likes it and watches it on an almost daily basis.
