Poor Fit
I bought these hiking shoes to replace a pair of Columbia's I had from a few years ago. It's not as rugged a shoe. The shank wasn't as strong as I'd hoped. My major complaint is that the shoes fit a little bit small. Also they were poorly stitched on the inside. Where the tongue is attached to the shoe, the seam is very bulky and uncomfortable on my foot. Im returning them. I hope this review is helpful.

Comfortable and has great traction
First time wearing them I went on a short hike. Dry terrain, moderate climb and the shoes were completely comfortable. No chaffing or pinch points. Arrived at waterfall and shoes were amazing for rock climbing massive boulders and loose gravel paths. A couple of times I literally felt the shoes gripping and preventing slippage. Then as I got to where the mist was falling, performed very well on slick surface. One foot went in and out of the water and my foot felt dry for the hike back. Again no chaffing or pinching anywhere. The shoes still look and feel new (thought they would show all the scratches and moisture) and most importantly; my feet felt amazing. Only time I've ever had zero feet issues after a hike! Best hiking shoe I've ever owned. And I've owned several from low end to high end. Note: I also wore high end performance socks that include arch support and moisture repellant.

Too much blister inducing slop in the heel area.
Item Returned.Too much slop in the heel area which will cause blisters. These were for my Mom. She's a Size 10 in Columbia shoes.Size 10 for the Women's Crestwood Hiking Shoe: Slop in the heel area but otherwise fine. She liked the style so we tried again.Size 9.5 for the Women's Crestwood Hiking Shoe: Slop in the heel area and mostly fine. She hasn't had heel slop in other Columbia shoes she has worn. We won't be buying this particular style again.

Lightweight
I bought these and a pair of Merrill, I chose these because they were lighter weight for summer hikes - they fit true to size and the colors are good for dirt & mud. The pink laces make them "cute". They did well on my first 2 hour hike, feet were protected and didn't feel every rock & stick in my path

Size WAAAAAAYYYYY up if you buy these
These are adorable, but fit two sizes too small. After reading in other reviews that they ran small, I bought a full size larger than I usually wear. But even after that, I could barely my foot into the first shoe, and when I did, my toes were all scruched up. Also: I ordered a medium, but they also seemed a bit wide for their length. I packed them up to send back before even attempting to try on the second shoe. Its a disappointment, because they are nice-looking and seemed well made. But they run way too short, and a little too wide.

Comfortable and durable
I absolutely love these shoes and the Columbia brand in general. I also have the hiking boots and I cannot be any happier. I have taken these shoes to many trails and mountains, including Mt. Ida, CO, Kilimanjaro, Needle Peak, BC, etc. best shoes ever and very affordable.

Pretty uncomfortable
I am an avid hiker. I spend a lot of time outside and usually always go with Keen for ankle support, durability, and comfort. I wanted something a little lighter I can move more swiftly on the trail (not necessarily run but not slow pace hike either). These shoes have good heel support, but man, they KILL my ankles and toes. They are constantly rubbing on my pinky toe (when I have PLENTY of room in there) and are always leaving me blisters on my ankles despite any sock I wear. These are not the greatest trail shoe. Giving them away since I already broke them in. It's a shame :(

Had to return
I bought a pair of shoes just like these a year ago and wore them almost every day for a year. They were so incredibly comfortable. They were supposedly exactly the se as these, except a different color. Supposedly. These shoes hurt my feet terribly. My feet, calves, and knees throbbed with pain after a day in these shoes!I returned them and bought some Merrell Moab 2's. They are extremely comfortable and were comfortable right out of the box.Do not buy the Columbia Crestwood shoes!

Great Shoe Columbia
I returned Merrell MOABs for having terrible sizing/all over shape & too heavy/hard soles. These were a perfect alternative. I did find I needed a 9.5, returning a 9. I am in between sizes, with some brands, especially sneakers. The soles on these are a great improvement over the hard, inflexible, heavy soles of MOABs. Much more comfortable & easier move in, but still with great treads for gripping. The shoe has great construction with suede & nylon fabric & a protective rubber toe guard. Just a great shoe!

A little narrow
I've had the older version of these for years and they've served me well. I bought these and didn't bother breaking them in this winter because I found them narrow even though they said wide. I'll work on breaking them in though and hope they do me for years like the older ones.

Nice shoe
Great fit and comfort but returned them as they are NOT good if you have a damp floor. Obviously good for hiking and rough surfaces but a 'deathtrap' (as my wife said after wearing them) if used on an inside floor that has a spill or freshly washed (house, mall, restaurant whatever with this type of condition). Her Windriver hikers with tarantula grip does not have that problem so going back to those ones, sent these back.

Well worth the price
I love this shoe. Very very comfortable. Im between 9.5 and 10, I took size 10 M and it's perfect for a foot that isn't wide. Solid yet flexible.
