Q: Can these be mounted on the ceiling for use without the curtain rod falling out?

I did not use these holders on the ceiling but attached to wall only. However, the screw underneath the arch, when tightened, will prevent the rods from falling out.

Q: How thick is the material? I need to buy replacement brackets for the one's I currently have. My current brackets seem to bend too easily.

The brackets are 1/8" thick and VERY strong and sturdy. I have no problems with these supporting the thick 1" steel pipes I use as curtain rods. Just make sure the brackets are properly anchored or screwed into studs or headers.

Q: It looks silver. Why does it say the outside is sprayed black???

The ones I received are completely silver.
