My Utmost for His Highest

My book came as described. Brand new. Gifted my first order. Ordered this one for me. This book is so uplifting! Great to read in the mornings to have a spirit filled day!

My Utmost for His Highest (classic version) is the greatest devotional I have ever used. In fact, it has helped me more in my walk with the Lord than any other book except the Bible. Sometimes it's not easy to read and it hits you hard, but the truths in it are spot on.Cannot recommend it highly enough! It's life-changing!!

The book is in great shape with the exception of the fact that someone put a sticker right on the front of it and when I peeled it off it picked up two pieces of leather and the F in the word for which I was able to stick back on. I suggest they put stickers on the back of the book Versus defacing the front. For the price, it’s in awesome shape but it would’ve been better without the sticker messing it up.

Seller lacks control of shipper’s handling, so suggest packaging be sturdier than a bubble envelope to avoid this happening (see pics.). The book itself is classic. Note that Oswald Chambers was a scholarly writer. Some vocabulary I needed to look up as the words used in his era are not common to todays reader. Phrasing is also period, but personally I like the style. Despite this I love the work. Some days devotionals hit the nail on the head causing a ponder. However, I don’t recommend for the newbie Christian. It is my opinion Chamber’s work is too sophisticated for someone just coming into the faith. Other time appropriate daily devotional’s better to ease them into later more poignant literature. Because of the depth of his writing, this might be a second and third year reading, as each year we shall glean more in-depth knowledge/understanding. If the publication date is an issue with you, I suggest looking to another seller as other comments point out this discrepancy.

This book is as applicable now as it was when the author was speaking in the 1911-1917's.Writings can go from simple understanding to a deeper and more complex line of thought.The daily readings fill one page and have been put into 365 day sequence, although one does not have to follow that sequence to reap benefits of the messages.All in all, I find this book relevant in my life and continued lifetime.I have purchased 5 books so far and have given 4 of them away to appreciative friends.Well worth the purchase.

such an old book, but still so much applicable to current living and seeking and striving to find God. Amazed at how such an old set of writings can transcend modern living...i guess the Bible does too, so no surprise. Small type may force some of us not-so-spring-chickens to break out the bi-focals...wish type a bit bigger. Other than that, no regrets

09/19/2018 ~ "My Utmost for His Highest" by Oswald Chambers is a perfect Devotional & gets richer & deeper every time you read these pages. This book is one of my most favorite Gospel Daily Devotionals & God's anointed WORD never returns void.

An excellent daily devotional in updated language from the original, which makes it easier to understand and apply. I usually use the original version, and this is for my teenage sons, but I use it along with the original for greater understanding.
