Works with DirecTV but audio sync drifts
I bought the Mirabox that does HD 1080P for $39.99, to capture and store recordings from my DirecTV DVR. I'm using OBS software on Windows 10. The video quality is actually really good once you set the encoder and quality in OBS Output settings. I'm using the NVENC (Nvidia) hardware encoder in my laptop at High Quality Medium File Size setting. The audio was a pain to figure out, though. I have to mute system sounds and desktop audio has to be active or no sound is recorded. I had to set the Sync Offset of the Desktop Audio to -200ms in the Advanced Audio Properties of OBS to get audio to sync with video. I thought everything was perfect, but the audio sync drifts after about an hour and a half. I'm recording 2 to 5 hour shows, so this is a problem.Based on my googling results, this audio sync problem may be inherent to the capture card and not something that can be fixed in OBS. So I just bought a DIGITNOW 4K capture card for $129 thinking that might be better. All I get from that card is a black screen with white letters that say "Not Support", so I guess that card doesn't support DirecTV at all. Maybe it's HDCP. So I'm returning that and keeping the Mirabox unless and until I can find something better. I'll just have to break the recordings into 1 hour segments I guess. With this setup, running an HDMI cable to the MIrabox and using the passthrough back to my TV, the picture cuts out when the computer is powered off.. It works if the computer is in sleep mode though. The DIGITNOW card has a 5v usb power input, so it would have solved this issue, but that card didn't work for me.There's one other issue with the Mirabox audio. It sounded weak until I changed those output settings and something happened, suddenly the audio sounded loud and full with plenty of bass. This is on my laptop. When I tried the Mirabox with my desktop PC, I got the same weak audio that I got with the laptop at first, but changing the settings has not made it better yet. I'm still trying to figure that out.Overall I give this Mirabox HD 5 stars for amazing video quality at a low price, but more like 2 or 3 stars for the finicky audio part.

Exactly what I needed
The item worked just as I needed. I was trying to record items from my cloud DVR onto my computer before we cut the cable cord. The box does come with instructions in the tiniest print imaginable but it was great in describing all the things you need to set in OBS. I only wish I had reconsulted a few of these reviews because the sound and the video don't match up. There is a review that explains how to fix it so find it. Fortunately I can use Hitfilm Express to edit the video and sync the audio and video so all is not lost.I saved the files as .mp4 and they play great on our Samsung smart tv. Oh, I had this on for three days straight recording and it did not get hot. It wasn't in a cabinet or anything so maybe that has something to do with it for others. Not sure but I checked it constantly. Not sure that I have anything to use it for again but it came in handy for this purpose. If we ever need a DVR solution for our cable-less set up, I'll definitely try this again.

Reliably unreliable
I can count on this thing to glitch out in various ways depending on which computer I'm using it with. With my PC laptop, 20 pixels on the bottom of the frame are totally borked. On my iMac (2020), it regularly glitches out; randomly reverses the picture, crazy stuff.

Good Capture Device for the money!
The capture card works good! Easy set up, good functionality, however there is a little bit of lag even when changing the refresh rate on your camera. Overall, it works well and is a good value for the money!

Audio Video out-of-sync
The audio is about 30 to 50ms ahead of video. Tried different settings and different softwares. Also it is not a simple set it and forget it kind of device. You have to know what you are doing to record in good quality and compact files. The syncing issue is a big problem for first person shooting games and the gun kick back and muzzle does not sound right. After initial recording I use handbrake to reduce the file size as the originals are too big.
