It's a stick to keep lefse unstuck
It's a stick, but it's not sticky. So this is confusing. It's wood, but for use you're hoping your lefse wouldn't stick. It's got a handle but you shouldn't handle the lefse - or the grill. Don't get me started on the grill. Ouch. Making lefse is confusing. Eating lefse is more fun.

The Ancient Gods of Scandinavia empower my forearm.
When a child misbehaves - and I mean really misbehaves, we all know the right thing to do. It's how we grew up, with our hardened Norwegian grandparents. Our own parents were slightly softer, but still threatened the wooden spoon or belt all the same. I'm not condoning any sort of abuse here, don't get me wrong, but these days the respect and honor of the future generations is lost. A nice lefse stick such as this WILL bring it back. It's also absolutely terrific at flipping the lefse, the wood is solid and the tip comes to as thin a point as physically possible. I highly recommend.

Slow shipping
The lefse stick itself is okay, feels a little on the flimsy side, and bigger than I expected; I can live with that.My biggest complaint is that I had to wait a week for this item to ship, and then I had to wait another week past the supposed date because the shipping was delayed. I paid extra for shipping that should not have taken two weeks..

It’s too thick
It is a nice shape, but it is much thicker than some I have owned and unfortunately lost. So these looked to be pretty good, but need to be a lot thinner in case lefse gets stuck to cloth. It’s easier with a thin one to scrape it without running the round of lefse.

Great if you want something 'traditional' but improved.
'Purists' would balk at something this big and flat not being 'traditional' (my grandmother had a much smaller, rounder stick that someone 'in the old country' must have whittled). However, with a lot more surface area, this stick is MUCH easier to use than a more traditional lefse stick. That said, if you aren't a purist, you might find it easier, as I do, to just use a thin wide spatula to flip your lefse (blasphemy, I know). Any way, it's a nice thin lefse stick.

It was just what I wanted and what I expected. It arrived on time as promised.

If you've never used a lefse stick you are missing ...
If you've never used a lefse stick you are missing out. Totally worth buying. Do your research and find out how to use the stick and you will wonder why you waited all these years schlepping lefse all over the place.
