2 out of 2 duds
I bought two of these, and I was really excited. I was going to buy more if they were ok.Both of them failed in different ways. One of them heated up even when it was off that the plastic melted a little bit, and the battery was dead overnight. The other one failed in a slightly more complicated way. I have to explain how they work to explain it. There is a button on the side, and 6 led's on the top arranged like the number 6 on a pair of dice. When you push the button once, one pair of these 6 lights is supposed to light up. Then when you push the button again, that one shuts off and the other two pairs come on (for medium brightness), then you push it again and all 6 come on for max brightness. Then you push it again, and it turns off. On this unit, one of the pairs (low setting) just never worked at all. So, it was impossible to know whether the light was off, or just on in the low setting with no lights. Somehow, even though no light was being created, when it was on with no lights, it still drained the battery overnight. So, 2/2 duds for different reasons suggests to me really bad manufacturing or quality control. The package was not damaged upon arrival, that I remember.I'll look for another similar light, because I really really like the form factor.

like two other 9 volt flashlights I have
The ad says, "Never worry about power outages leaving you in the dark again". Well that is what I thought until I put it in my pocket and found that it turned on twice by itself. As it has a push button instead of a sliding switch, like two other 9 volt flashlights I have.Anytime I bump up against anything, or if I am on the floor working on something, it will turn on and remain on for who knows how long?I was hanging up my pants today when I just happened to see it on, glowing from inside my pocket. This push button flashlight will eat batteries.I am returning it and buying the slide switch type of 9 volt battery flashlight.

Poor battery life
Product drains battery when turned OFF.....I thought I had a bad battery the first time, but it drained the second battery in a few days. Not good quality.

Quit working after 15 or so uses.
I bought this and used it maybe 15 times and it quit working. I've had the other style which has a toggle on/off switch and it's worked for years. The only problem with the toggle switch is that it switches on when it's in my pocket. So, I bought this push button style and it lasted at most 15 uses.

though that was pretty remote as it was just sitting in my desk ...
Light is bright, BUT, it drains a battery in the off position! Battery dead in 36 hours. The first time, I thought I might have left the lite on, though that was pretty remote as it was just sitting in my desk in front of me. So, attach a new battery, cycle light on, then off. Make sure off. Two mornings later, battery is drained completely. Stay clear of this device!!!!

Fell apart
Battery connections are so tight the guts came out while I tried to attach new battery. Bit expensive to be that flimsy.
