Excellent buy for easy and simple insulation solution- especially for rental units
This is the bomb!!! It works great! The Insuladd beads are so small they're like very fine granulated gray powder you add to your paint. It doesn't change your color either. Although I didn't have a temperature recorder, we could really feel the difference after painting with this additive and noticed our AC unit was turning on as often. I actually recommended it to our property management company for other renters who wanted ways to insulate and lower their utility bills but are not allowed to do anything to their units. We noticed a minimum $45 difference the month after we applied it. For the first time the whole year our bill dropped below $100.00 on a fluctuating usage bill per month!!!! NO JOKE. We did nothing else but put a couple coats on our upstairs loft wall that was adjacent to our very hot attic. We have some left so we may paint the other side of the wall of the attic as well for added insulation. We plan on buying more and adding it to ALL of our paint for ALL of our rooms to see how much lower our AC and heating bills will get lol So once we noticed the difference, we went further by switching our utility provider to a cheaper one and locking in low rates and our recent bill was shockingly just about $60 with taxes and fees included so this sure helped save us some money. My hubby is very happy as he is the one paying the bills.

Save you time and money; don't buy this product.
I followed the instructions exactly and mixed with one gallon of stucco paint from Pratt and Lambert. I panted three coats on a west facing wall...........the product simply does not work. I notice no difference in the temperature of the wall surface or the inside of the room.Save your time and money.

Works but not nearly as good as the real insuladd
I actually tested the product and found it works, but the real insuladd (from the company, insuladd.com) works even better!!! What I did is painted 3 sides (2 coats) of medium size boxes from home depot with white paint. I printed the front side, top, and side that was facing the sun. Than took a thermal gun and measured the inside floor of the box on a hot day (temperature about 90 degrees), The non-coat measured 103, insuladd amazon measured 101, real insuladd measured 96...a 7 degree drop vs amazon only 3 degree drop!!! For comparison, I measured another additive called coolcoat and it measured 99. Thus, insuladd was the best. For reference on how color it affects the results, I did the same as above except used dark red paint. Results: non coat 104, amazon 103, coolcoat 102, insuladd 100. Thus, even insuladd with dark red did better than white without no additive. For reference, I measured the outside surface of the box because some youtube claims the temperature is the same on the outside and thus means insuladd doesn't work. And yes I found that same thing, white paint on the outside surface was 112 degree for all....147 for dark red. Thus, measuring the outside surface is wrong science.!!!

Insuladd powder dominates the paint
There is no way I know the heat blocking effect until summer comes. So no rating on that yet. As far as how well Insuladd comingle with the paint, I have to say you should consider using it with dark color flat paint, otherwise it will dominate and take the shine (such as satin or semi-gloss) away and you can see it obviously on white paint at certain angle. The surface you painted won't be as good looking as you expect. So keep this issue in mind when you buy it. I end up diluting it further to make a finished surface look a little more smooth.

The next time I do this I will use better quality paint such as Mobile or Moore
Living in the Deep South, I am not only worried about the intense heat and utility bills, I am now worried about further polar vortexes. I plan to buy more of this product. With my first purchases, I repainted the siding of our mother-in-law cottage (exterior), as well as the crawlspace skirting, main house. The next time I do this I will use better quality paint such as Mobile or Moore. The additive was easy to mix in, and quite easy to paint. However, I am a skeptic. In spite of this, I confirmed an immediate temperature reduction in the cottage, although I only used one coat rather than the two suggested. Lower temperatures translate into lower utility bills (a/c). I am well pleased with this product. Again, I will be purchasing additional packages now that I am satisfied with the efficiency of the product. I am quite worried about yet another brutal winter for those in the east. This is part of the provisions I am now making. Buy it! I think you will also be pleased at the savings.

FAKE FAKE FAKE!!
Amazon needs to remove this item. I contacted Insuladd and they said this and the ones sold on eBay are fake from China using a copy of the old bag.no longer used by Insuladd. You can get the real thing that works at Insuladd (dot) com for about $25 shipped for a one pound bag for one gallon of paint and closer to $20 a pound for larger quantities. Glad I found out before buying this.

The product was easy to mix and apply to garage wall. Too early to comment on insulation performance.
