Quality nutrition
We have used Hikari brand food for a decade now. We have never had any problems. The food is such high quality, that the koi metabolize so much of it, there is very little waste. I used the growth formula, and color enhancing formula for years. Our koi grew so large, I didn't want to have to get rid of any, so switched to wheat germ/cooler weather food, and use it year 'round. It is very high quality nutrition.

Cool weather Koi food
Yep, my 30 year old koi don't lie about what they like and it's Hikari. My area can have cool summers so wheat germ is a staple for my water pigs. 33 lbs? They consume more than 40lbs during their eating season not to mention other supplements. If any is left over (LOL) I just put it is air tight sealing bags and throw it on the shelf for next season. I have never had a bad batch.

Great for my older Koi; Quality product; Slow Fulfillment
I’ve used the Hikari Koi Wheat Germ for at least 8 years. This is the first time using the medium sized pellets vs. the large. The fish seem fine with the smaller pellets but I use a feeding ring and the smaller pellets get knocked out easier than the large ones. Hopefully this doesn’t mean more food ending up in the skimmer. They float a long time, giving the Koi plenty of time to gobble them up. I also like that the package contains very little residual powder or crushed pellets. Very good product. My only complaint during my most recent order is that it took a little over a week to arrive. I guess I just need to plan further ahead when my supply is running low.
