I was a little hesitant to buy this, however this is the unit that my sister's dog trainer recommended. I've only had to use it about five times over the past 6 months for my boys. They don't like it when you just click the button. I needed it to curb nighttime barking for my healer because my husband is usually asleep and gets up early for work. They have learned that all I have to do is hold the unit, not actually use it, and they will stop barking and/or come into the house at dusk. As long as it is you safely, this is an effective dog training tool to utilize. My sister has a naughty, cranky Chihuahua and that's why she got it to curb his nighttime antics. As long as you use this safely, I highly recommend. If you're not sure, please consult with a trainer to avoid any damage to your dog.

The two barking deterrents do not do any good—-the ones I ordered a few years ago were great—-I have ordered 2 more expensive ones to see if they will make a difference—-I need to know how to send first two back—-I have no return labels or anything to put them in, as I threw everything out, for I was so sure these would work—-_I would appreciate any help you could offer—-thank you—-Carol Crowley

Great device my dog would jump on everyone who came in the house and with in 3 uses of this device he no longer jumps and now all we have to do is say the word associated with the device tone and he stops it also worked great on our walks when he would bark at other dogs. Only thing is , it works on other dogs as well so when I used on my dog walking the other dog he was barking at aIso reacted. I like it because it is safe and does not shock . You do need to be close to dog for best results. We had party in yard and he was to far away at times got it to affect but fit the price this is a great training tool. We have told many of our friends and they have gotten as well and really like .. I would recommend !!!

This device worked really well for our 30# dog but not so well on our 65# dog. Fortunately, the smaller dog is the problem one for barking at neighbors. Also, the range seems to be about 20-25 ft. This is what was advertised, but it is inconvenient for a larger yard; we have to leave our deck to get closer. As he learns to back off the barking, just moving from the deck with the remote in hand signals him to stop. Worth the price though.

It has a long battery life and it’s easy to use but I think it doesn’t work on my dog. In fact, I think it did the opposite and just made them bark even more. I’m not sure if it’s just me not using it correctly or that it just doesn’t work.
