I've been battling mice in my attic and mice, like people, range in intelligence and their ability to analyze situations and learn. I started with catch a release traps and they worked for the first four who willingly entered and were carted away. Then, there were a couple who were mistrustful of them.At this point I had to move to a kill trap, the classic Victors and Tomcat's. Caught a couple with those, however, the last mouse standing was the smartest and learned to lick the peanut butter off, without triggering the plate. This one mouse I believe is also the one that entered the catch trap briefly, realized it was a trap and backed out quickly as the door sprung closed. Got his paw caught, but managed to get it out. There was no way he was going to try that again and he figured out how to steal the bait on the traditional kill traps.Getting kind of frustrated, I tried these traps instead and literally the day I put it up there, I got him. He first explored around them and put his nose around the bait door (I have a "mouse cam" up there,) maybe tried to get his tongue in and realized he couldn't. Thought about it for a few more trips back and finally got the courage to try and nudge the door open with his nose. Bam! Very quick, humane kill. I think that does it since mouse cam hasn't spotted any more running around or going near the traps I left up there, but if were not for this newer style of Victor, he would still be up there. Highly recommended!

The traps are fine and work well. The problem is the item says 12 mouse traps, I received only 2. I inquired with Customer Service and they said they would send the rest. Now, a few days later I have 2 more. Still missing 8 traps. They instead refunded my money which is okay. Lower star rating because you don't get what you ordered and causes issues.

I've used 2 different kinds of the old wooden Victor traps over the last 35 years to kill mice in two of our houses. The vintage traps worked pretty well, and I've killed several hundred mice, but too often the mouse gets the peanut butter and doesn't trip the spring. Or the kill isn't instant and they run around dragging the trap (I know, I should nail it to a board or put it in a confined space, which I've done). Or the worst, the bar only gets their tail and they ultimately escape.Also, there are the drawbacks of almost always having to rebait the trap, i.e. the mouse gets most/all of the peanut butter before the bar comes down and gets them. AND the drawback of laying the trap gingerly down so as not to set it off yourself.This new Victor Quick Kill trap is foolproof and mouse proof. Could NOT be easier to bait and set. Could not be more effective in quickly killing mice. Small mouse, bigger mouse - it doesn't matter. They stick their snout in the food hole, the top (trigger) goes up, the killing bar comes down. Lift bar to get dead mouse out. Lift bar all-the-way to reset. Peanut butter still intact (no rebating). Put trap back and get ready to kill more mice.There used to be a saying - something about building a better mouse trap, i.e. that it was an endless search, an unending quest.That quest is over. VIctor has build THE best trap. Even though I just bought this model, it hasn't failed yet, and I have high confidence that it won't.

I loved this product at first. I typically use the standard victor metal pedal and the victor easy set snap traps. I find the metal pedal traps difficult to set and the easy set traps not too much better so I tried these Victor quick kill traps. I love how easy it is to set these and the design of these with the bait compartment is very effective. This kill trap would be perfect if it actually KILLED the mice. I have been using these for a week and a mouse has set it off every night. Unfortunately, the mice set the trap off twice but escaped, and most horribly I found at least three of them caught in the trap but still alive and flopping around. I didn't reuse any of the traps that failed to kill or were set off without a catch. When I looked at the first trap that failed to kill the spring seemed to be displaced from center. I wasn't sure if that was done when the mouse was floppying around and wasn't even sure if it would have caused the problem so I continued. However, after three traps failed to kill I believe there is a problem with the traps themselves. When comparing these traps to the other traditional snap traps I noticed that the spring force is significantly less on these. The springs on these are smaller and require less force to set. Also, they don't have the same force when set off. I'm not sure why they used a smaller spring unless it is because the catch is plastic on this trap. I gave this product one star simply because it failed to hold up to its name. It is supposed to kill quick and it failed most of the time. I've used a lot of Victor products and like them, but this isn't a good one. It leaves you trying to figure out how to deal with an injured mouse. I'm going to give their "Power Kill" product a try and hope its better.

After using these for several months, two of the three quit working. After close examination, I found that a plastic tab had weakened and no longer holds the metal bar open.

My home is in a more rural area and with that comes critters. Some I lime some I don't particularly care for. MICE I don't particularly care for. Now I am so thrilled that I've found these spring traps. They are so much easier to set than those older wood ones with the metal snap spring. Can't tell you how many times I've almost snapped myself setting the older traps. This newer plastic model is so simple you basically just pull back until you hear a click and it's set. And it works quickly and humanly to do the deed. They're reusable if needed. But I can't do that myself Would definitely recommend especially if you have dexterity issues or don't want to see the little critter 😵🐀🪦

This product is so easy to set and use. It is very effective. Overall I am quite pleased with this purchase.

Best mouse snap traps I've ever used. No missing with these ones and so easy to handle, set and dispose of dead mice.

Easy to use, flawless, instant kill : they've helped us get rid of 100s of mice over the years ... so one thing is for sure, they work. *Tip: use actual nuts and not peanut butter or cheese, as the mice will learn to scoop the soft content out of the hole without setting off the trap; they can't do that with actual hard nuts.
