Excellent waterproofing
In the past I have bought expensive waterproof boots. Usually, I have gotten Redwing boots and have paid about $200 a pair. I wondered if I could use a less expensive brand of boots and settled on $80 boots from Columbia after trying other brands. The Columbia boots arrive waterproof.. but lose the waterproofing after about 6 months of regular use. (I do lawn care and work outside) In comes this product. I apply Sno-seal about monthly and these boots last (so far) 2 plus years. And the Sno-seal makes my boots look new and really better than new. That said, I have made Sno-Seal a gift to the people I work with and have gotten good responses from them as to the extended longevity of their boots.So... Buy comfortable quality boots and slather them with sno-seal occasionally, and you'll have dry feet and save a few dollars.

Great product
Works as instructed. Used 4 coats and warmed the boots in the oven between layers. As noted, does significantly darken leather as you can see in the pictures between before and after.Used both a rag and a small brush and found the brush easier to use. The product does have a strong smell that’s close to kerosene so if you’re sensitive to that I’d work somewhere well ventilated.

A Must Have! Don’t think - just BUY! Highly recommend!
My husband works in the harsh New England winter and this product saved both his boots and his feet. It performed well in rain, sleet and snow. The application was very simple! I used a hair dryer to melt the product down, it’s nice and buttery when you apply heat - the boots soak it right up if you apply enough heat. I applied one coat that I heated to a liquid state so the boots would soak up a coat completely and then I applied a second coat that was a bit thicker. Two heavy coats on a pair of boots and we used way less than even half the jar. Id say this jar can easily do 2-4 pair of boots dependent upon side, and how much product you want to apply. We used a good bit since my husband literally stands in snow for hours at a time and even with that in mind we could do 3 pairs of boots in his size. His only complaint was that the product changed the color of his boots - he wears the Redwing Heritage boots so he likes the reddish color and this product deepens that to a brownish. This is to be expected when applying a product like this so we accept that it’s just something you have to deal with but I thought it was important to note for those who are concerned with keeping the original appearance and color of their boots. The coats I applied to his boots have withstood the rest of time. We applied 9 months ago and the boots survived the winter without any water damage or salt stains. The original application is still going strong almost a year later! My husband could not do his job without high quality water proofing on his boots as he works 12+ hours in snow and rain some days. His feet are thanking us for this product!

THE BEST. Really works to "seal" out wetness and winter snow.
Been using this protector for almost 50 years. That's a lot of hiking. It requires some effort. You apply the waxy snow seal then you need a gentle source of heat to make it "melt" into the leather. A wood stove works. Nowadays I use a heating gun set on low. Years past I'd use the open gas flame on my stove (carefully).Reviews have said it softens the boot leather. Never noticed that. Thanks to SnowSeal I enjoy stepping in icy puddles and watching the water just bead off

Best waterproofing for leather.
While living in New Hampshire and Vermont from 1965 to 1980, I tried mink oil, neatsfoot oil, saddle soap, beeswax, and Sno-Seal to waterproof my L.L. Bean boots, leather flight jackets, snow shoe harnesses, and leather straps of all kinds. Sno-Seal was by far the most efficient and supportive of the leather. I have used Sno-Seal exclusively for the past 45 years.
