Works as advertised
I carry it in town when running and biking. Had to deploy it on a Pit-Bull that came after me while running. It stopped it in it's tracks. I do a lot of solo hiking, camping & hunting, so carry when ever in the woods. I had to deploy it while hiking on the SHT last summer. Two dogs came at me, one was not backing down and when it closed to within 5' with an aggressive posture I sprayed it. It immediately backed off. This stuff works great on dogs and I am confidant would work on 4 and or 2 legged predators if needed.

It works
I lost one of my dog to a very brutal off-leash attack, after a very long while, I adopted a reactive rescue and now take every precaution to stay in control of him. My sense of care is not only to protect him but also others. He’s always attached to me with a runner’s leash to prevent him from accidently getting away from me. Unfortunately, I’ve encountered too many people that don't seem to care for the saftey of others. I've had several altercations with aggressive off-leash dogs. I carry two sprays: Halt and a citronella spray from PetSafe. If you only get one, I recommend Halt. You can spray it in the vacinity of non-violent dogs, and they’ll stop. For aggressive dogs, hold the button down with your life until it hits the right spot—when it does, they’ll run. Anyone bringing their dog outside a fenced yard needs this. From someone who has lost their dog from an attack, it's better to be prepared and carry the extra stuff on walks. Also, if this gets on your skin, it burns!!! IDK how "safe" it is or if it is truly better for animals then regular pepper spray. Still better to blind a dog then burry one. Also, pro-tip I attach both sprays to the waist portion of my runners dog leash, you get used to them being there; I never have issues on walks, they have fallen off while running (but rarely). You don't need to run to use a runners leash, it's very convent when you need to use both hands for something else!

This works!
Unfortunately, I had to use this today. It’s not the first time it’s happened, but I’m so glad I brought my HALT with me this time. A dog was running loose in our neighborhood and it came running right up to me and my pup. At first it was friendly sniffing, but it quickly turned bad and they started fighting. Once they broke apart I was able to get to my HALT. I didn’t want to use it, but the dog would not go away. As it approached us again, I yelled for it to leave, but it kept coming at us so I sprayed it right between the eyes. That’s all it took, and the dog was gone. I actually felt guilty for spraying it, but I know it was the right thing to do. I was so glad I had this on hand or I don’t know what would’ve happened.

Love this product! It works!
I brought the product because there was a mean dog on the loose near a trail I walk on with my children. I didn't want to harm the dog, but wanted to protect my children at all cost. I had to use this product a few days ago. It did not want to harm dog but this spray stopped him in his tracks. We were able to walk away safe. I was sure he was going to bite. I love this product! Everyone should carry this around.

I feel safer now
When I walked my dog one day like I always do I turned the corner and two big dogs were loose and walking towards me and my little dog. Thankfully I was able to get on my neighbors porch and they left. But now that I have this product with me I feel safer about walking my dog.

Decent
I like how small it is and well it fits in my shirt pocket. It’s very easy to keep on hand and ready. What I don’t like is it does not spray well and is not a dependable form of protection. My area has a bad problem with dogs running at large and some being aggressive. Being a disabled person with a medical assistance K9 is too much temptation for vicious dog to resist. My neighbor has a pocket pit (that’s what they call it) that terrorizes the neighborhood. This dog has been hit twice with Hault ll on two separate occasions only a couple days apart. The following day the dog was back at it. In the moment it disoriented him but attacking us is still more motivating than leaving us alone.

Reassuring
Luckily I haven’t had to use this yet but after a few close encounters with unleashed dogs while walking my dog I at least feel like I have some sort of defense. It slides on to the side (hip) of my pants and is easily accessible. I feel more confident waking my dog now knowing if I do have to use it it will not harm the other dogs as it is NOT a peeper spray.
