This is not exactly "real food", but as far as lifeboat ration type products go, these are the best of the best. IMHO, of course! They taste better than the cube type ration bars (the closest taste I can compare it with is 'maltesers' balls without the chocolate coating), have a small and light form factor that makes them easy to tuck away anywhere, and unlike certain similar products, do not need any tools to open. They can also be eaten very surreptitiously, which could be critical in an emergency shelter situation. (Remember in that sports stadium after Katrina when people were literally killing each other over bottles of water?) I like that the small envelopes can fit anywhere and they are so easy to eat. I always keep one in my purse, several in my car, and I have them in my go bag and personal item bag when I fly. When I'm getting shaky from low blood sugar on a road trip, eating 4 of these tablets will settle the blood sugar enough that I am not tempted to stop at a fast food window. I recommend them to anyone to keep on hand for travel and emergencies.
