I found a very soft grip – cushioned. I have had dogs which pulled when walked and the leash always bit into my hand; with Dibests this would not have been a problem. I tried to get a good picture of the grip. The black material is solid. I have owned this leash but for a few months so I can say how it will handle is just as good as it was when I first received the leash and I feel like the leash will handle daily walks without tearing up.I feel like Dibests extra heavy durable leash may be a little too much for Millie, but the leash is strong and light weight. I believe this leash will be perfect for medium to large dogs.
