This is a perfect replacement. The o ring on the pin of my old one deteriorated after 10 years and fell out somewhere on the road. That’s fine, nothing lasts forever.I’m glad I was able to replace just the ball. Saved me from having to buy the complete kit.

I ordered this separately from my convert a ball kit because I ordered the kit in stainless and wanted to save a few $$$ on this size as I dont use this size much. Do your self a favor and use the convert a ball. All the other swappable hitch balls are junk! I regularly tow a 4-7k lb trailer and these are the best I have used. I also use a solid aluminum reciever, so no more ugly rusty junk hitch on the back of the truck.

The ball met my expectations completely. The stainless version would probably be a better option if it is to be left on for extended periods in bad weather as my reason for replacing this one was rusting to the shank.

I have used convert-a-balls for years and have found them very convenient dealing with multiple trailer sizes. I recommend the storage case since they tend to rust and jam up if left out in the weather but with a little care they will last for years.
