Truly horrible writing instrument.
This is a true POS. I will never buy another fountain pen made in China. You can buy a $2 Pilot Varsity that beats the pants off this excuse for a pen.

I enjoy using these pens as they have spoiled me so that I no longer like to use regular ball point pens.

Nice Looking Pen, But Calligraphy for Asian Characters?
I used to have a calligraphy pen set with slanted nib points of various widths. I have not used the pen for a long time and when I recently looked for it, I could not find that set. When I saw the photo of this pen, it looked like it was a much more expensive pen, so I decided to order one to try it out. I received it today and it is a very nice looking pen and seemingly solidly built based on its weight. I am not sure what the reference in the description to "chrome ring & tip" means, because the pen looks like the photo -- the clip, tips, rings, and nib are yellow gold color and not chrome. The black and gold colors make it look like a more expensive pen.Because the bent nib was unlike any of the calligraphy pens I have used, I checked on the Internet for information on how to use such a pen. Various sources indicated that the bent nib was intended to mimic brush strokes for writing oriental characters and was not intended for writing letters in western languages. However, the bent tip allowed the same nib to be used to draw broad to fine lines by varying the angle of the nib to the paper. I will have to practice to see if I can do that while writing. One problem I noticed is that the cap weighs nearly as much as the rest of the pen. When the cap is posted or placed on the other end of the pen, I found it difficult to hold the pen more vertically to draw finer lines. I find it easier to shift the angle of the pen when the cap is not posted, because the pen is lighter and easier to hold in a more vertical position.By the way, the pen writes very smoothly! I will be practicing with it to see what I kind of writing I can use it for.
