Great little trash can for your car! I keep the strap around a large cupholder/tray so it hangs on the passenger side against the console. You could probably hang it from the shifter but I just foresee that annoying and in the way. Stays where I put it and has just enough length to touch the floor in that area. I reuse plastic bags from grocery stores and the side snaps are excellent for snapping through it and keeping the bag in place. Bonus, I got carsick on the way home the other day (of course the one time when I forgot to replace the bag in the bin) and it held strong! No leaking even without a bag until we got to the gas station and disposed of it. This may also sound odd, but it was also quite comfortable and quiet to puke in instead of using just a bag. I was able to sit it flat on my lap and hold the sides open. Purchased another one to replace it right away as soon as I got home. This time I won't forget to put a bag in it! LOL! So if you have passengers that easily get carsick, this may also be a great option.

Just as expected. I put in a small plastic bag and snapped the two "buttons" on the sides to hold bag in place. Works great and doesn't take up too much room. Since mine is fairly new, it stays in a half-open position with plenty of room for expansion. I like this because it is still very easy to drop items in but I usually don't have a lot of trash so it doesn't interfere with leg room for my passengers. For longer trips and more trash volume it easily expands to fit the items you deposit. I am impressed with the quality and value for the price. Bags do not come with the one I purchased for $9.99 but I use small 1.2 gallon clear bags I purchased from "Strong Small Trash Bag" on Amazon. They never leak and there is enough overhang to allow you to easily close the bag for removal. I highly recommend this product as a garbage bag for your vehicle.

Works well but the strap broke. The base is roomy and you can button in the bag so it stays in place. This keeps it clean and ensures the bag does it job. Looks neat as well.

This trash can works great in the middle of the 2nd row of both of my SUVs by securing it with the strap to the front seat center console storage area cover. The strap is just long enough for the trash can to sit firmly on the floor without impeding the storage cover. The trash can keeps it shape, and a small plastic bag (even a grocery bag) can easily be secured to line the can by using the two side snaps on the outside of the trash can. The bag is large enough to hold plenty of trash while still allowing the 2nd row passengers to use the AC vents, etc. on the back side of the center console.

I brought this product for it's compact-ness. When I unpacked it, I immediately noticed that it had a tear in the strap. After I had purchased this car trash container I had read several reviews that also mentioned that they too had received it with a tear in the strap, or even at the seam where the strap is attached to the container. Since making the repair I have installed it in my car and so far so go. It does fit compactly to left side of the passenger seat, just as pictured in the advertisement. Unlike other reviewers, I did not expect it to come with trash bags, because I had read the full description of the product were there is a clear disclaimer about not providing trash bags. I use the small trash bags that you can get at your local Dollar Tree, or 99cent stores, or in a pinch a grocery bag. I do like that it holds the trash bag in place with snap fasteners on either side of the container. I purchased the medium size so I do not think that it will hold large quantities of trash like some reviewers have shown in their pictures. I think they may have purchased the larger size (it comes in 2 sizes). How easy it is to clean has yet to be tested, but I think since it is fully lined with the removeable trash bag, cleaning should not be a problem. It is rather flimsy in built so if you over stuff it with trash, I suppose you would run the risk of it falling apart. One other thing, unlike some other reviewers who claim that it did not come with a stiff bottom insert, mine did, which is necessary to keep it open and help to maintain it's shape.

Works in my car where there is almost no place to install. Put it at the back of my console.

I have had this product for about 3 years, it still looks like new. Very sturdy, easy to clean. The only down side to this is the fact that placing a trash bag inside it tends to slide down, doesn't hold it up very well as it can only fit on three sides, the back side you cant slide the bag down so it wants to slide forward. Overall, I would recommend to buy it if only for the fact it will stand up to time.

I own a 2009 mazda5 and I was trying to find a trashcan for my car. This is perfect. I attached the strap around my shifter. It lays on the floor on the passenger side. Doesn’t interfere with my passengers while sitting in my car. It’s got a flat bottom and sits nicely on the floor and the strap is adjustable. It can easily hang off of the headrest facing towards the back
