do not buy this product, it is not made with high quality parts.
bought this distributor for my 350 small block chevy, because the factory AC delco ign module went out and the original shaft had over 400,000 documented miles on it. so i thought it head down to my local speed shop and treat myself to a brand new SPEED FX 3100 distributor (id never heard of this brand this was in august of last year... sincebout the 3rd month ive been plagued with problem after problem because of this CHEAP china made distributor. the first thing is that it started was missing under a high RPM i assumed it to be out of time. and had it re-timed, so that didnt work. so then i changed my plugs. THAT didnt work, Was going down the road after testing it and it fried the first ignition module that came in it. so i had to have it towed home. i bought a new ignition module that following day and when i opened up my cap to install it, i found oil in the bottom of my distributor plate. i assumed that i had blown a seal. so i cleaned up the plate and all the oil. and replaced one of the o rings at the base, never thinking to check under the cap itself. when i went to take the old module off, the wires stripped right off of the connectors leaving nothing to connect back to, which required me to pull the distributor, and make my own wiring back to the module. so i fix all of that mess and go back down the road and it is still missing, at this point i assume my engine is shot, so i park it for the winter time occasionally starting it up. about the time March- April came i was ready to drive my car. so i just drove it to work now and then. which is only about a mile there. i endured the miss, until i took a back road to work and it died again, un able to start. had to have the car towed AGAIN, pulled the cap off and i found more oil.this time i opened up the cap and found the picture shown. the coil had a hole in it and leaked all of the cancer causing oil into my distributor fouling out every module i put in there. so this time i scrapped the cheap coil and put my 25 year old super coil on, cleaned up the connections and spliced some new ones in, as the oil degraded them. i all but threw this thing away. i rebuilt my factory distributor with new equipment, and now the car runs fine. changing nothing but the coils, module and wiring it was at this point i tried to research the brand name and could find nothing online aside from this page and a separate website with no further info,So in short this product has cost me 3 ignition modules, 2 ignition coils ( counting that i had to put a coil thats 25 years old back on to it), i had to buy a soldering iron and wire to re-wire the wiring that stripped itself on my module, it also cost my long time speed shop my business and friend ship as i can no longer trust his product or his word for selling me such an horrible product.PRO: cheap if you need one in an emergencyCON: Does not work for extended periods of time. cheap, low quality parts, will require nearly a full rebuild, or a 100% new distributor after about 6 months
