Hadashi (meaning "barefoot") tabi are very different in appearance from other jika-tabi. They have a band of weatherproofing rubber around the exterior sole to help keep you dry in wet environments. Good for puddles, but the shoe as a whole is not waterproof since the black material is the same breathable cotton used in other jika-tabi. Currently Hadashi jika-tabi are available in sizes from 24cm through to 28cm with twelve fastening tabs (Kohaze). The external material is black, 100% cotton with a tan-colored, sturdy-rubber bottom. The inside is lined with a thin, white cotton material and the insole is a thick cotton padding. The construction of these is quite different from other tabi giving them a distinctive look. US sized listed are men's sizes, for women's size just add 1 (e.g. US 7 -> women's 8).
