Celtic Christmas Edition

Music is nice but there are random mandolin pages
This is nice collection of Christmas Carols but the first and last 7 pages (14 pages total) including the table of contents are for a completely different mandolin book. It’s a little obnoxious not to have the correct table of context to refer to. The harp music is good for intermediate harpist.

Not for beginners!
Music often can be judged as to its difficulty, by the publisher who (largely) makes the music available for purchase. Ricordi publishes opera scores of the great composers; Universal the erudite Germano-Austrian school, Durand, French music, and G. Schirmer, historically all the stuff you used to need as an undergraduate Music Major. But times change, and company's libraries are 'bought out.' Hal Leonard now owns G. Schirmer, for instance, but their 'bread and butter' used to be 'Books for Beginners' in a wide variety of methods and songs. Kim Robertson is known as an accomplished Folk Harp player, and this book gives the impression it is doable for those with 'some' harp technique- THIS IS NOT SO! These songs are lovely, because they are DIFFICULT. Harmonics, 16th-note runs and arpeggios in the LH (the 'less talented' hand for many) mean that this is at least a "Grade 3" Level source of Christmas Rep for the folk- and pedal harp player. A welcome addition to the Christmas Rep for harp? Yes! But easy, NO!

It is a beautiful book for mostly intermediate and advanced players, some songs are easier.
This is a book some will want to practice out of season because of the ballad style throughout. For example, "Coventry Carol". It has grace notes, sweeping left hand lines, one note in each hand, 4 note RH chords, 3 note RH or LH chords mostly one at a time, guitar or ukulele etc. chord mentions. The result is lovely.

CELTIC/CHRISTMAS HARP MUSIC
I received this book of music in perfect condition, in a timely manner, and was pleased to see that it will be suitable for a fairly "newbie" type player if I just play the top notes and left hand, OR as I advance will have a more advanced sound available to play. Later on when I learn it both ways I might possibly play one version at the beginning of a gig and later toward the end, the other way. For now, however, I'll pick out the melodies and left hand! Nice book. (Can be used for Celtic harp in C, and some levers needed on a few.)

interesting arrangements
Gorgeous arrangements. Perfect for the holiday season when you want something much more interesting than the usual old Christmas standards.

Great book, but a little too hard for me right now. Lucky I have an easier Christmas book.

Beautiful.
Lovely book, beautiful arrangements - and lots of them, including many well known carols and some less well known. Challenging but playable for me (at ABRSM grade six level.) I was looking for some 'performance' arrangements of carols and, having enjoyed Kim Robertson arrangements of folk music, thought I would take a chance on her Christmas book. Am delighted that I did.
