I stumbled upon this whilst browsing for some new books for my 3 year old. It looked quite sweet so I thought I'd get it and see what she thought. It is now one of her favourite books!It's written in rhyme (which is what makes a good children's book in our home!), it has lovely artwork and the story is adorable. A great message around sticking to your guns and not being swayed or influenced - staying true to who you are and what you love! A little girl goes to get a new dress, but she doesn't want just any dress - she isn't interested in fashions and fancy frocks - she wants a dress with pockets to fill with treasures and useful items for her adventures!Girly-girls and tom-boys alike would love this book - a great addition to out bookshelf!

Finally, a book without the words " black girls or brown girls book" in the title. The author and illustrator have just written and illustrated a book for little girls without making it obvious on the cover by pointing out the little girl is black. Literally scoured about 30 titles on amazon before finding this book and it's great. The recipient will love it.

Bought as a gift and ended up buying another one for my daughter.
