Muhle DE shaving blades are highly inconsistent in the quality of the shave they provide. The complimentary blade which came with a new Muhle R89 Grande DE razor was fantastic. It provided clean shaves, retained sufficient sharpness for six shaves and did not cause any nicks or cuts (with proper preparation - moist heat, shaving cream applied on brush). it was clearly superior to other blades I had tried - Gillette or Wilkinson.But the packet of ten blades was a tremendous disappointment. It was impossible to shave with the first new blade out of the packet. It just would not cut the stubble - after three passes it still left a lot of coarse stubble. I just had to throw it away and open up a new Wilkinson Sword Classic from Sollingen. That produced a couple of nicks, but at least it gave a clean shave.Why can't Muhle maintain quality and consistency in DE blades? Their brushes and razors are really good.

I know a blade can be somewhat of a hit or miss from one user to the next. I am 40 and have been wet shaving since I was 15. I know how to shave. I am very familiar with safety razors.I can not recommend these blades. I have used 4 of them so far and find them to be the most grabby and aggressive blades I've ever used. Incredibly irritating to my skin and even with a proper shaving foam, just drag across your skin. I've tried different preshave ointments and all that. Such a painful shave.

I was pleasantly surprised by these Muhle blades. I'd tried other German brands in the past, but found they were not quite sharp enough compared to Feather and other blades. Since these were only $3 (2021 price) I figured I'd try them out. I have a medium to heavy beard, and the blades stayed sharp for five shaves, which is average for me anyways. They glide comfortably, like a Derby, but have a similar sharpness to the Feather (no 5 o'clock shadow). At this price point, I'd try them again, or at least keep a pack on hand for variety.
