Quality item
I appreciated the machining and finish was excellent for the price and adequate for a proper accessory rail. Adapters for the old dovetails are hard to find and often questionable, this one is a decent value and as solid as one could ask for if not super pretty.

Worthless Buy bad ace tacticals mount instead
First off design relies heavily on bracing itself on the screws. Screws provided were junk and out of spec and run thru hole sloppily where as new same thread types do not an actually need to be forced in cause the hole is out of spec. Screws provided also were incorrect lenghts to maximize thread engagement. Also required filing on front end to fit. My k98 is a 1937 built yugo capture k98 so theres no reason this shouldn't work Bought originally for price but have learned my lesson.

What a happy find!
I have had a K98 Mauser for years that I always wanted to mount a scope on. I bought the necessary tap and drill bit to tap it myself, but have always been afraid to try it since it is so critical to have those mounting screw holes in the receiver in perfect alignment with the bore. Then I discovered this rail designed to mount where the rear sight is on a K98. Thank you, thank you! This is a much easier way to mount a scope on a K98. It seems very solid, but I can't speak to the integrity of it under recoil. I need to swap out barrels first. The rifling in my current, original barrel is too worn to spin bullets properly. I will report back if there are any issues when I get it finished.

Modern upgrade adds optics versatility to a great Mauser
TPO Picatinny Weaver Scope Mount for Mauser .This is a do-it-yourself modification you can make to a mil-surp Mauser bolt action rifle. Although, you may want to let a gunsmith handle it for you if you are not a DIY type. The most difficult part, (not really that difficult) is removing the rear existing leaf sight from the rifle. There are a few You Tube videos that show this process. The new picatinny rail scope mount is then easy to install. There is a bolt and thumb nut that secure it through the now empty pin hole that secured the original sight. And two set screws are then used to level the mount, to get it parallel to the bore. Then, two smaller set screws are used to lock the bigger set screws in position. I recommend using a removable thread locker (like blue LockTite, available on Amazon) on all screws.Apparently I cannot show the finished installation. This mount provides a nice section of picatinny rail to mount a scope or other optic. The price on this mount is a great value.

Not for a Sporterized k98 Mauser with pencil barrel.
If you have the K98 in its original configuration, without impacting mods, original stock and rear sights, this might work for you. If you have a Sporterized version, pay special attention to the details. Many years ago after WWII ended, you could get a milsurp K98 for cheap. These things were shooters back then, and with a properly tweaked one now, new propellants, projectile designs, etc, you can really stretch its legs out.If you are a garage gunsmith, you should be able to install this without too much machining. It would make the perfect scout configuration. For what it is, it’s pretty well manufactured and would recommend. If you have a Sporterized model, this may NOT work for you. It’s description is accurate.

Easy to install
I got a 7mm Mauser about 2 years ago and have been looking for a scope mount for it. This works well and the rifle now has a scope. My co-worker ordered one for his too and it worked without issue.

Great for airsoft, not so much for pellet
Ok so if you've got the real steel or airsoft version, this mount will work. There's some work on your part with the existing sights just to be forewarned, but it does work. However, if you have the Diana, I don't recommend this as the rotary mag sticks up and will obstruct mounting this. That said, it works and feels just like any lowpro rail would. I don't have high expectations, but for my airsort K98, this does the job.

Moser scope mount.
Have to admit at this price point didn't expect to have a scope hold zero mounted to this thing. It did however, under the stress of being rocked around by an 8mm round going off that's saying something. Just remember to use orange locktite and snug it up good.
