Pittsburgh Steelers ABC: My First Alphabet Book (My First Alphabet Books (Michaelson Entertainment))

this book is adorable! it was smaller than i pictured it to be however, the quality of this book amazed me. its very sturdy and i feel like it will teach my son a lot.

This book is disappointing. I was so excited for it but it’s kind of just a generic football alphabet book with Steelers customization. The pages are poorly designed too/look ugly. I did love the shape though. The pages/book concept is inconsistent with some pages having full photos, some just like a collage, some have more words or items associated with it. Each page does have a Steelers photo, and then sometimes it will describe what is happening, but I was hoping for a more direct relation of the alphabet to a Steelers fact/person. Like B is for the Big Ben, or T is for Terry Bradshaw. But here is an example of a page: B “blocker” and then it says “more words: bench, blitz.” Then it has Pouncy as the photo but this page doesn’t describe what’s happening or who this is. Another page type: J “Jersey”; “more words…jump” Then it has a photo of a 00 Steelers jersey. T “terrible towel” (with photo); “touchdown” (with photo); “Vince Lombardi Trophy” (with photo); more words… tackle, team, throw, turnover. Overall, I guess it’s just not what I expected from a conception/execution standpoint?? So maybe it’s not TERRIBLE depending how you see it, but I think it is. You could describe what’s going on, who the person is, etc., to your kid, and it’s good to associate it with football learning in general, but I wasn’t after something like that. If I wanted a generic football book to teach about “ball” and “jersey” and “catch”, I’d find one. I wanted something uniquely made about the a Steelers in a cute ABC format.

Absolutely adorable! I love love love this book! Bought it for a baby shower where they requested a book instead of a card and you write a message in it. I used a sharpie for that, it worked great! The only negative is that there was no wrap or box on the book when I received it to protect it. It was in a box with a lot of other items I purchased so it was a little beat up. Other than that the book is great. It's made of very sturdy cardboard and we'll put together. It had great colorful pictures and I'm sure it'll be enjoyed for many years to come.

I ordered this (with some Steelers colored leggings and a Steelers Mr. Potato head) for a friend's one year old. Both parents are Steelers fans, so I wanted to get something that was functional for the whole family. I think the book turned out to be a great gift. It is smaller than I would have liked (probably about 5' by 5' or so), but that also makes it convenient for the diaper bag or car trips. It has nice think cardboard like pages that are much harder for a baby to rip (although I'm sure they could manage to eat or bend them if they're determined!). The content of the book isn't exactly baby driven; I think even a seasoned fan would be impressed with the trivia it contains, thus making it interesting for a parent to read with a child.Overall, I only took off a star due to the small size. I think a child might be more interested in a larger book, but the quality and content is really great for a fan of any age!

Love, love, love that Steelers have an ABC book! Very cute book, and convenient size to pack in a purse or diaper bag. It is definitely not the primary book you would use to teach your child the ABC's. All of the letters and coordinating words are football related so sometimes it is not a practical reference. For example, X=defense. The book also gives additional words not relating to football. Under X it also says X-ray. So even though most of the words inside won't be in the 1st 100 words book it is still a very nice book to have. The quality of the pages is exactly what you'd expect out of a board book.

This is a great little book. Bought for Christmas for our 3 year old and he loves it. Yeah, as some other reviewers noted, there's a few questionable word associations (Immaculate Reception is a bit tricky for a 3 year old to pronounce and understand), but the book is great. Filled with history unique to Pittsburgh (and I'm assuming other NFL franchises as well). Was really impressed.

I really like this book but it is a lot smaller than I expected it to be. That's mostly my fault I guess for not paying attention to the measurements. I gave this as a gift for my friends one year old. They are huge Steelers fans so they loved it.

Nice little Book for my son in law who’s a diehard Steelers fan and his and my daughter are expecting their first baby.
