Very easy to use. Metal build should make it dishwasher safe
Prior to this I was using an allegedly "Dishwasher Safe" plastic batter dispenser. After 3 months of ownership and maybe used 10-12 times the plastic cracked. I jumped at a chance to try a metal one. I love it. its easy to move this around than the plastic kind, especially when using a waffle iron. The small spout opening means this will be great when I try funnel cakes, but conversely thick batter flows out of this more slowly than the larger spouts on the plastic batter dispensers. When I used it my pancake batter was a little thicker than normal, but it worked just fine. nonetheless, thinner batter is definitely this dispenser's friend.I've been on a pancake kick lately so I feel qualified to judge this.My "Nails and Fails"What it nails.1. Metal=more durable than the plastic competitors. If you drop it it won't crack.2. It requires less squeezing force than the plastic ones. There are no pressure points that experience hard force over time like the plastic dispensers. I imagine this unit will have greater longevity than its plastic relatives.3. The resting stand is quite convenient.4. The stopper drips far less than the silicone spout design.5. The included powdered sugar shaker. I love this extra accessory. Some competitors include a pizza slicer. I'd go with the shaker.6. The spring looks easily replaceable.Where it fails.1. Disassembly for cleaning. The stopper makes it difficult to get done into the tapered section to clear it. You need a small brush. A sponge won't get in there. There is a screw that can be undone to remove the stopper, but I would thing constantly removing and reinserting this would cause that part of the dispenser to fail quickly.Even with that, in the world of batter dispensers I'd give this a 5 out of 5.

A great kitchen gadget, takes up some storage space
This is a great stainless steel kitchen gadget that's well built. You pour the batter in the funnel, then press the lever to dispense through the bottom the exact amount you want, then release the lever to stop.I was a little concerned about the seal, which appears to be a fiber/plastic type plug held in place by a spring on the lever. When I tested the pourer with water, the plug sealed perfectly with no drips. The lever seems a bit loose, held in place by a single nut and screw, but it operates solid and appears it will hold up just fine. The only drawbacks are the size of the device, and cleaning. The device is rather large, and will take up the same space as a medium/large mixing bowl. It doesn't stack, other than fitting in the stand. You'll want to decide if you have room in your kitchen/cupboards based on how much you think you'll use the device. Also - the device isn't for heavier/thicker batters. It will work well for pancakes, and thinner cake/cupcake batters, but thicker batters such as nut-muffins/etc, will likely not pour through the funnel. Finally - there is no way to remove the plug for cleaning without disconnecting the spring. You can rinse through the end and clean most of it without a problem, however you are not going to be able to get a soapy dishrag around the inside and bottom/plug area without a little effort.

Makes pancake Sunday much easier
This is a quality kitchen tool, that in my opinion is both fun and practical. To earn space in my kitchen, a tool has to fulfill its function and this batter dispenser does this better than expected. In the past I have tried several methods to dispense batter, spoons, a ladle, a measuring cup, but all were quite messy, whereas this dispenser is quite precise, easy to handle, and to clean if you rinse quickly after use. Dried on batter is no ones friend. My favorite use is for filling my waffle iron, as that was always a messy task. The set come with the dispenser, a stand and a bonus shaker (nice for powdered sugar). Previously I had a plastic dispenser that broke almost out of the box, but this unit is designed for the long haul and is worth having.

Who knew this would be such a winner?
I love Canele’s and make them more often than I should but it’s a pain to get the batter into the little cups. This solves that problem so well, it’s a wonder I never thought of it. This works well to drop the batter exactly into the mold so there is no spilling or mess made. It’s very easy to use and just pressing the handle opens the flow and letting it go closes it. No leaking. It’s easy to clean and makes the whole process so much easier that I’ll be making more. I haven’t used it for anything else but if you have any batter that has to go into a small space, this is the answer.

This is better than a measuring cup
I've been using a measuring cup my whole life but this is so much better and versatile from pancakes to filling cupcake cups. Excellent
