Works Incredibly Well
I got this as a Christmas gift and I was so impressed I bought another in a different size. This pan heats so evenly and retains that heat so well I have no hot spots or areas where food is cooking faster than other areas. I have no scorching problems and it cleans up so easily it's amazing. I love the bakelite handle too-feels sturdy, doesn't get hot and looks like real wood. I read some folks were concerned that the pan is too light to be of good quality. I've used a lot of different cookware in my quest to find a good quality skillet that won't lose it's flat bottom shape, is easy to handle and clean and heats fast and evenly. It's more difficult to find that one would think! My search is over. I like that this pan doesn't weigh a ton. It's easier to maneuver on the range and to clean. I gave my old Calphalon skillet to my daughter. It's a good pan, but after cooking with WaxonWare I knew I'd never go back to the other one.

Fabulous Pan
I received an 8” Calphalon fry pan as a gift 18 years ago and used it almost daily, usually for cooking eggs in the morning. But over the past year the non-stick coating had worn to the point that everything was sticking so I started looking for a replacement. After researching many different brands of non-stick pans on the market and carefully reading the reviews of those that had tried them I decided to give this WaxonWare 8” pan a try. I have only used it a few times since receiving it but so far it has proven to be an amazing pan. No-stick is an understatement for this pan, the eggs slide around so much that I have to be careful not to tip the pan even slightly before cooking is done or they will slide out. So far this pan has exceeded my expectations. If you do not mind the unusual look of the pan and only care about its performance then I would not hesitate to recommend this pan. If anything changes this opinion I will update this post in the future.

Keep the heat low
When I first got the pan, I could not wait to fix my eggs in the morning. I was surprised to see that the eggs did not "slide around the pan" but rather stuck. I live in an apartment and have a very old gas range and it is impossible to keep the heat low so I got out my Nuwave Induction Burner and tried the pan again with a better-controlled heat source. Beautiful! I set the temperature for Medium which is 275 degrees and cracked my eggs. Withing seconds they were sizzling and slid easily in the pan. I actually turned the heat down to Medium Low (175 degrees) to finish cooking my easy over eggs. I have since tried it on the induction burner for other foods and it works just as advertised. I love it but because for me, I cannot use it on my stove, I only gave it 4 stars.

After 60 years in the kitchen, this is my favorite go to pan!
So far I have used this pan for eggs, sausage, grilled cheese, toast, brautwurst, and bacon. It heats fast on low or medium heat, and I have learned to turn the burner off before fully cooked since it holds the heat so well. With a small amount of butter to grease the pan nothing comes close to sticking. I believe nothing would stick without the butter, but I like the taste. Cleaning is a snap, just wipe with a damp paper towel. I like the depth of the pan more than the shallow pans I used before. The wooden like handle is so easy to grip and never gets hot. Maybe they could shorten the handle a little, but this will not prevent me from ordering more of this product. Try it and you will be as satisfied as I am.

Alas the search continues...
As much as I love the design, feel and even cooking surfaces of these pans, there are some problems and one major one. The handles need to be constantly tightened back down after minimal use and the non-stick coatings even though work very well are not robust enough and are easily damaged. Now, here is the big issue. The alloy used to make these pans does give an evenly heated cooking surface BUT it has a nasty reaction to water and detergents, it will blacken with a carbon like substance that will heavily stain anything the pan sits on. The blackening will happen after sitting in a sink but is most prevalent after a dishwasher cleaning, even though they are advertised as dishwasher safe.I have searched long and hard for quality robust cookware and I truly thought I had found it with these pans. I love the design and feel but the blackening issue is forcing me to continue my search. My advise, keep looking….

Adequate
I had to get some replacement pans that were suitable for an induction cooktop. Thought I would try out the 8" fry pan and a 2Q sauce pan. After getting them assembled as best I could, they are working fine. Two issues that I would consider if I were to be considering this pan.1) The handle assembly is not easy. I think they need to work a little bit on their fit. I had to really tighten the bolt holding the handle to the pan. Compress the lock washer all the way so that lifting the pan by the handle didn't reveal a gap between the two. I was also a little concerned about the threading. It took several tries to get the bolt with the handle lined up so that I didn't cross thread.I eventually got the handle on and solid.2) Induction compatibility. As advertised, the pan is 'induction compatible' which is true, but on my induction cooktop, they do not rate highly. The cooktop sensor rates cookware from 0-2 where 0 is incompatible and 2 is best. These rate a 1. Indicating that they will work, but they will heat up slower than a better rated pan.Overall some good and some not good. I guess we'll see how long the coating lasts and update after a few months of use.
