The lights on the collar are very bright and visible ...see update.
The lights on the collar are very bright and visible, especially from behind my Aussie. I use it as a secondary collar and attach her lead to her primary collar. I've been using it daily for a week now. Three times, the lights went off by themselves, possibly because the lead hit the on/off switch, so I had to turn them on again. That should not deter anyone from purchasing this collar. Drivers are giving us a wider berth because they can see us from a distance. We have few street lights in the area. I also use a flashing light on my waist pack. She currently has her summer-do (buzz cut), so her fur is very short. I may have to add a light to her collar when her fur grows back in a few months. I've also let her out in the backyard with the collar on. There are times, depending on her angle from me, when she is not very visible but because she is in constant motion, this has not been a concern. I'm not sure if the battery can be replaced or if would even be economically feasible to do this. The first charge lasted for about 8+ hours of walks. I would definitely consider buying another when this one dies (hopefully not too soon).Update 8/21/14:I've used the collar for 6-7 weeks, almost nightly (missed maybe 7 nights of use) recharging still after 8+ hours of use. Last night, I turned it back on to a slow flash after it turned itself off (still not sure if the lead hits the on/off switch). It then switched itself to a steady light before we got home and I was unable to turn it off. This is the first time I had a problem with a product ordered through Amazon. Customer service was excellent with a very rapid response resulting in a refund. I'm going to order the same collar and hope that it lasts longer. My dog's fur is growing longer, so the lights are not near as visible from the back but the front view is still good.Update 2/27/15:The replacement collar has been in use for 6 months on nearly nightly walks. The prior problem must not have been contact with the lead since this one hasn't turned itself off. The little plastic piece covering the charging port is no longer attached but I can push it into place (not as good a fit). I hope I don't lose it, although it would only be a problem in rain/snow or if my dog rolled in the dirt. We do go on long nightly walks, so charging it once a week is still adequate.

No longer able to charge device
I purchased a medium collar in red, and so far my experience with it has been great. I was able to adjust the collar to fit comfortably around my dog's neck and it does not slide loose, which was a problem for one of the other collars I researched. Also, the plastic closure is sturdy enough to keep the collar from opening during rough play or strong pulling during walks. The red LED lights are bright, making it easy for me (and anyone else) to see my dog at night, and there are 3 different light settings from which to choose - solid, fast flashing, and slow flashing. I noticed that a few reviewers mentioned having issues with the charging unit falling out of the collar housing like others. My dog has A LOT of energy, and I haven't noticed any movement in the charging unit placement. However, if it were to shift or fall out, it wouldn't be too difficult to sew the housing tighter - perhaps not ideal, but better than have the unit constantly fall out and possibly get damaged during play. Finally, the microUSB port on the collar has a small rubber cover which seems a little fragile. While it hasn't broken off yet, I've only charged it once and can already see how/where it might break in the future. Additionally, the rubber USB cover doesn't like to close properly once opened. While this may only be a problem with the specific collar I received, it could also contribute to the problem other reviewers were having with the cover breaking off entirely. For this reason alone, I have rated this product 4 stars - if the rubber USB cover issue is addressed in future orders, then it will be perfect! I will provide further updates if anything changes after more use.Update: I have since discovered that the USB port used to charge the collar is no longer engaging the charger - you have to hold the charger in place or put pressure on it in order for the port to acknowledge the charger. This has made it difficult/nearly impossible to actually recharge the device. For this reason, I am going to take away one of the stars I originally gave this product. I would greatly appreciate it if somebody from GoDoggie would contact me regarding this issue.

Great--good quality and works. Few druthers listed here.
A much better deal than other versions on the market (and site) for the price--this collar is durable rather than cheap, designed well (the lights are under the surface, the push button is flat and has three settings, the USB port is protected (albeit with a frustrating little rubber flap).I sort of wish for fashion purposes that I could have gotten the same dark purple and brown collar my dog had already--this collar is white with stripes that are the color you've chosen. But I would rather see where my dog is romping around the Wisconsin winter woods after I come home (sunsets early here) from work than have her look stylish all the time.I don't know if I would rely on this being a collar to clip your leash on if your dog has a habit of Houdini-escaping at the site of the groomers. It makes a fine second collar or you can use a harness get-up when going for walks. This one is good for clipping the nametag, license and rabies vacc tags on.
