This device works very well at a shorter distance. It claims to work as far as 50 feet but we have noticed that that's not the case as it has stopped our dogs from fence fighting with the neighbor dogs quite well. It hadn't stopped the neighbor dogs, though when it's turned toward them. It requires a 9V battery, which is nice, but we've had to replace it often. I assume it has to do with how much the dogs bark. More barking = more battery usage. Overall, it's a good product that works at a short distance and well-built for the weather

I purchased this for a new puppy we have been trying to crate train. The first couple of days, the light would come on like it was emitting the sound whenever the puppy barked. Then it just stopped. I don't know if it stopped working or if the battery went dead in under two days; either way I am not impressed. If that is how often you have to replace a 9V battery, then that is too expensive. Also, I never saw that it suppressed the barking of the dog.

I don't know if this device actually kept my neighbors dog from its excessive barking. I think what worked was me speaking with my neighbor about their dog and it's barking. Since then my neighbor has been better at controlling their dog.I think the only way to test these devices is to stand in front of a barking dog and see if it stops them from barking. I have not been able to do that.

From the start, only 1 of my beagles was responding to the device. Then after about 2 weeks, neither dog was affected by it, they kept barking despite raising the level on the device. I changed the batteries twice, just to be sure they were full strength. Waste of money.

Reduced barking by 80%. Significant but not total tranquility.

The description for this junk product says to give it two weeks to work. Well, I gave it two weeks -- BOTH of them (I bought two), and the neighbor dog's barking has NOT let up in the least. The range for this dog is UNDER 50 feet, and the bark is very loud, so we can rule out a too-lengthy range and a not loud-enough bark.I set the gadgets in different locations. This included hanging on a tree about five feet high, which cleared the fence between our yards, and areas between the bottom of the fence and the ground where there were dips in the earth, eliminating the fence as a barrier. I also set one on a ledge above my electric panel, clearing the fence barrier, and one on a ledge that was part of the fence, so that the microphone was right up against a space between the fence posts.THIS DEVICE DOES NOT WORK. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. The good reviews for this lousy product are probably from results with the user's OWN DOG, most likely INSIDE THE HOUSE within a 10 foot range.

Our dog is dumb as a bag of potatoes but she notices it. She turns her head to it when she barks but doesn't seem annoyed by it. Our dog would need additional aversive training to make it effective. Probably doesn't help that she's kinda deaf.

This item was a waste! It is smaller than it’s pictured. It took longer than expected to get shipped and when it arrived, it wasn’t what I ordered. My order was for indoor or outdoor use but the one I got is for outdoor use only. Most importantly, I’m a cancer patient in need of rest. I purchased this item to stop my surrounding neighbors’ dogs from barking every time they’re awake. This device was a waste of my money. After I put it outside on my windowsill closest to my neighbors’ houses, I followed the instructions and tested it. It passed the test but two days later, the dogs were still barking excessively. I thought the device had fallen down and broken, but when I went outside to check, it was still in place where I left it and still functional. Apparently not enough to stop the dogs because they continued to bark while I was standing by the device. As I go through my cancer treatments, I’m even more in need of rest. To get it from the comfort of my home, I desperately need to get a dependable deterrent device but, I don’t want to take a chance and be bamboozled to spend my money again on another unreliable device.
