I like the color pictures
It certainly is comprehensive, much more so than my 5th edition. My last edition (5th) had more color pictures, I like the color pictures, they also helped to distinguish between similar drug shapes and/or color. That can be vary important if you happen to have several similar meds and it was hard to distinguish between them as I've unfortunately had happen. Thank the Lord for the pictures!!! The type set isn't any bigger, but the whole page seems to look large and easier to read. Is that for all us oldies? How thoughtful ! My old volume had over 1015 pages, the new one over 1060. Information is getting bigger. This is definitely a great aid to have handy.

Great general reference for the non-medical person
I buy this book every two to three years as a general reference for mostly prescription drugs. The most important thing for me is that it tells you the time lapse before the drug begins to work. Or what to do if you forget to take a dose. Secondly, as a senior, it also tells you if you can expect to have more severe/frequent side effects. It's my go-to book. I even learned some things about certain medications that even my specialists weren't aware of. And it's written in everyday English - not medical language. Buy it - you won't be sorry.

How do you spell the medicine name?
I have been reading the Drug Book from cover to cover, going over my medications and other peoples' also--they think I'm their reference point now. Great book, considering I attended Nursing School back in the early '70s and used the hardcover PDR--we had to memorize drugs and Pharmacology----not an easy thing to do without a computer for a brain. Now if they would update this book every year as more and more drugs enter the market---or when they are banned, also----that would be great----an insert for the book the same size would do

Just being informative
The book has been a very informative reference for medication. we are not doctors but it seems smart to have some additional knowledge of what the doctor prescribes. In fact we are all human and they too make mistakes. The book gives medication info and counter affects and other medication that can harm other medications. This way we are not left in the dark and have some action to our own medication intake.

COVERS A LARGE NUMBER OF MEDICATIONS
THE BOOK CONTAINS A LARGE NUMBER OF PRESCRIPTION AND NON PRESCRIPTION DRUGS. THE DRUGS ARE GROUPED BY FAMILY, WHICH MAKES IT A BIT DIFFICULT TO FIND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR WITHOUT CONSULTING THE INDEX. HOWEVER, I DO RECOMMEND IT.

It is good to keep up on the latest prescription drugs and ...
Very informative as usual. It is good to keep up on the latest prescription drugs and get information that the doctor never tells you about. Especially the side effects. Doctors don't always talk about the pros and cons of meds in order for the patient to make the decision of the risk/reward. This book helps.

this book can answer a lot of questions
This book is a great reference tool. Let's you check the prescriptions the doctors give you. Then if you have anyQuestions or concerns you can always talk to your pharmacist and/or the doctor

Updated version follows in same informative footsteps.
The format is the same as previous editions and this one includes some newer medicines that are advertised on TV now. I was a bit disappointed in this one and previous editions for NOT showing differences in generic prescription medications and, in stead, lumping them into a general class when discussing side effects, dosage, and indications..

What would we do without H. Winter Griffith.
I have been getting these books for 10 years now, and pass them on to other family members when I need to update. The medical reviews are easy to ready and thorough in their content.

Review of book
Review of book.It is a great book for finding out what the medication is for and what the interactions are. There are some that are not in there. It is still a good book. It tells you when to take it and usually how much they suggest how much to take. Always check with your doctor.
