Memorable Neurology

Great!

After reading and loving Dr. Heldt’s other book, Memorable Psychopharmacology (twice! Cover to cover!) and struggling with other neuro anatomy books that shall not be named, I decided to get this book and I am so glad. If you’re like me and the thought of neuro anatomy sends you into a cold sweat or gives you flashbacks of sleepless nights in med school, this is the book you need. Dr. Heldt’s friendly, casual tone actually makes reading about neurons interesting. He uses mnemonics, memory tricks, and little silly images in his books that help with recalling the information for tests and even includes practice questions. I really cannot recommend this book enough.

I wish I had this book in medical school! This book has filled so many gaps in my knowledge of neurology. It finally helped me to make sense of the clinical relevance of neuroanatomy as patients presents. There were so many “ah ha” moments . I actually looked forward to reading it . Great refresher!

As a soon to be Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I wanted to be sure I had helpful texts to easily describe basic neurobiology and remain knowledgable about neurology as it applies to the psychiatry field. I have found this text extremely helpful. Neurobiology can be dense... and honestly, I feel it can be confusing, but this text breaks it down into easy-to-understand sections and helpful pneumonics. I cannot think of any cons to this book currently. I definitely would recommend it to others!

I wish that this was available when I was in grad school. Well done.

I never thought I could make an A in a neurology course in physician assistant school. Right now this book has saved me literally. I'm the worst at being able to retain and recall information. This book makes it actually fun to learn and I remember most of everything. They have mnemonics for EVERYTHING. the funny thing is that the mnemonics are all for the most high yield information too and they are random ones. They actually have a flow to them. I almost feel like crying because of how beneficial this book has been. I feel like a genius! After class, classmates may talk about how difficult class was and in my head I'm like, "Well, honestly it won't be too bad once I read my book I got once more again." I feel like I can actually see myself going into this field. Also it helps for the anatomy side as well as the clinical side of things. Don't only rely on this book for information. But, it is honestly the only outside resource I need to use other than the PowerPoints. Whoever made this book PLEASE MAKE MORE!

I am disappointed in the shape the book came in. There are semi-creases - the front cover and a small portion of the (about 30 pages) of the book have a bend in it. The book itself is what I expected.
