Mechanical Fisher's Yo Yo Fishing Reel Automatic (5 Reels) Flat Trigger Model

The reels are pretty sturdy though they see smaller than I thought. I may have missed that in the description. They are between 2.5 and 3 inches in diameter. The spring is good for setting a hook and will reel in smaller fish but will most likely not pull in anything more than a couple of pounds. It doesn't look like it will break, but it doesn't seem strong enough to get it in. The cord is a strong nylon which you will want to add mono filament to for better luck. I got them for a survival kit for a boy scout trip and they will most likely go into a small hiking pack after that.

these are for my BOB, I have never used one but maybe this summer I will try one out to see how they work.... not a great fisher but if I need something to catch a fish I would rather have something to use then to try to use just a line with hook.... I know some people might think I'm crazy to buy something that I have no idea what it really is or how to use it, but thats how I learn!

After my husband spent 30 minutes and quite a few supplies modifying it to work for both large and small fish it works great! I would not recommend if you are not good at tinkering with things. :(

Arrived quickly, and in very good shape. These were for my Dad and he was tickled silly as he used to have some and couldn't find them. He really was excited to see that the were still available ! We are pleased with the purchase, and the delivery, everything was fine !

Ok ,but would be better if therehad a cord to hook up to 12 volt system....Thank you ....

They work exactly as they were advertised, were a great deal for price, and were a great addition to the bug out bag!

Its great! I like it a lot, the only problem is the nylon line doesn't go that far out.
