I needed this adapter for the computer in my bedroom. I have 300 Mbps internet and I get a 2G signal, which is the slower one and then the 5G signal which gets me close to speeds of 278 Mbps. What I found out with the faster 5G was that the signal did not go as far from the modem as the 2G did. With this router I am able to pick up the 5G signal from the far bedroom. I haven't had any issues with drop outs or disconnection. I think the double antenna on this adapter makes the difference. It comes with software but it worked without it for me. All and all, great product.

Cheap construction. Difficult to connect cable to adapter. Got a bad connection with poor speed test results (despite high signal signal strength and reported link speed). Found connector wasn't seated all the way. Tried again to reinstall the connector and broke the adapter.ProCIV won't give me a refund, even though it is inside the 1 year warranty. I contacted through Amazon - they said to download a new driver (which can't fix a broken device). I tried to contact them through e-mails in their user manual and web site but those have gone ignored.Don't buy from ProCIV. They don't stand behind their sales or warranties.

I've been trying to find a USB 3.0 AC adapter for some time. I've used 2 other well known brands, but they were inconsistent in connection, and overheated. The drivers were buggy on those as well, and product support was null. For this item, I followed the instructions, but rather than using the disk I used the inet link provided and got the driver/software package from the website. Easy to download, easy to follow, easy to install. Now I receive the max 100mb connection I pay for over 5ghz, while my trusty N dongle only used to get 40ish. This thing never drops connection which is huge and plagues lots of adapters. Can't comment on 2.4ghz as I haven't used it. Give this a shot, especially at this great price.

I ordered two of these one new and one used like new. Both work flawlessly and have very good 5 ghz range. One of the wifi adapters is running on Windows 7 and the other is on Linux Ubuntu 17.10. The Windows 7 machine does not have usb 3.0 just 2.0 but works just fine. My Linux machine has the usb 3.0 and works superb. If you run Linux I would recommend getting latest drivers from github after the mini disk install included.

I bought this product to increase my computers signal range and it gives what it offers.But as a netbook user with no cd reader it was hard to find driver for this model since it does not have any brand name on it.It makes me think that producer is unconfident about the product.Software it comes with is really old fashioned.and i think unnecesarry.But the reason that i cut off stars is about functionality.Whenever i connect a wifi it deactivates itself and connects back in several seconds.More on that when i leave my computer idle for downloading something or any other reason it gets deactivated again and i had to plug off/on again.As conclusion it works well for me since i am doing basic things.But it might not be the best choice for sensitive users.

This is a simple plug and play item. Out of the box I plugged it into a machine running Window 10 and it has been functioning flawlessly ever since. While I'm not a techie who can run benchmark tests, I can say that the wifi on my machine streams videos without any stutter or interruption.

Not too expensive for USB 3.0 wifi adapter. Setup was easy very easy using the little CD that same with it. It stopped working a month of use. I unplugged the USB cable and plugged it back in, and it restarted, and works fine again. I guess you may have to reboot it once in a while.

This thing uses the realtek 8812AU chipset. Do yourself a favor and read up on some of the issues this wireless chipset has. Could not reliably get it to stay connected to wireless AC no matter which driver revision I used.
