PentelEraser Refill for Pentel Pencils, 4/tube, White (PENZ21)

You have to push on the eraser to forward new lead to the pencil. Unfortunately the metal sleeve that holds the eraser is skimpy and begins to travel down the lead shaft and is impossible to remove now. I really liked the feel and writing of the pencil but had to trash it because of the poor design of the eraser/lead advancer. I dislike having to throw away anything, but learned my lesson to not buy erasers that are required to do something they are not designed to do properly.

I upgraded a Pentel Mechanical Pencil that came FREE with a 3 pack of Pens, I liked it so much and the fact it lasted so long, (it still works) I bought one that was to my liking and after a few years I decided I better get some new erasers.These are great, the real deal Pentel erasers and they got here quick. As these are Pentel erasers, and can be elusive to find in office supply stores, I have them in a secure location.These do last a while and in all seriousness, it is nice knowing that along with pen refills and bulk Sharpies, I have a supply of erasers.My Grandfather had one of the first Scripto mechanical pencils, and was never out of his sight. I find it a bit odd but I am glad I saved the first one I got, just incase. And while the price seems high these are worth to me over one dollar each.Note of caution they make different sizes this is for what they call a technical model.

These erasers were purchased for my Pentel Graph Gear 1000 pencil. These rubber nubbies have enough grip and rub to remove my silly mistakes with just a few strokes. They generate a light amount of friction, this keeps keep the paper from wearing and tearing. The metal casing (provided) holds the eraser tightly in the pencil. It takes a little bit of fingernail to pry back the metal casing to advance the eraser. I wish for a clamp-based design that would make it easier to advance the eraser, but this is a minor nit. In my use of these erasers they have not hardened over time like other cheaper alternatives. I use my pencil daily for hours on end. Great product if you write a lot.

The first time I ordered this, it was perfect. 3 erasers in a tube. The second time, though, it was 4 erasers in the same size tube, so each eraser was considerably shorter. This means I'll need to swap them out more frequently. Also, the plastic tube was completely fractured, nearly shattered. I'm kind of disappointed, but oh well - at least I still got some erasers. I find the mistake about sending the 4 erasers a bit odd, as it's actually a different product number. These are Z21, but they sent me Z21N, which is the shorter ones that come 4 in a package. Luckily they work the same, but as mentioned previously, the erasers are much shorter.Anyways, the eraser material is high quality, and I love the fact that they are adjustable. They work perfectly in my pencil.

I'm sure these erasers are good quality, but they aren't for your standard Pantel mechanical pencil. They are teeny tiny things. I've never laid eyes on a pencil this small.

Nice to have these on your Pentel pencil to secure the lead chamber. As an eraser though you're better off buying a two-pak of Pentel Clic Erasers, ZE22. They are built like a pen but have an effective click mechanism that feeds or withdraws more eraser out of the business end as necessary. These do fit my Pentel Graphic 500 very nicely and are handy and useful when the major eraser I mentioned above isn't available. I'd recommend all three for those who use pencils a lot. I use pencils mostly only for crosswords, and nice words.

I needed erasers for my GraphGear 1000 mechanical pencil. I ordered two of these tubes. I did not get two tubes of the Z2-1 erasers as depicted in the picture, but instead I got two tubes of Z2-1N erasers, which are smaller. They'll do just fine, but simply for sending me the wrong item, I'm not happy with this purchase.EDIT: Apparently, Pentel has discontinued the Z2-1 eraser refills. That is unfortunate. I have increased my rating by one star to account for this new information, as my receiving the wrong item may not necessarily have been Cell Distributors' fault.

Breaks too easily
