These are exactly what I wanted. They are easy to work with and provide a nice ambiance to our yard. They are decorative only; they don't cast off enough light to illuminate your porch the way Christmas lights do, for example. But that's fine. I already knew that from other reviews. I just wanted something to give a subtle sense of magic to the yard at night and these are perfect for that.The strings seem easier to work with than regular lights I'm used to. They didn't get tangled or knotted, even as I dragged them back and forth through the yard experimenting with different layouts. I was surprised at how easy they were to work with. I usually hate dealing with cords, but they were stress-free.The lights are a blue-white color. I read that in reviews and was concerned I wouldn't like it but it looks great in person. It's not blue as in tinted lights. It's just blue as opposed to yellow-white light. They don't look at all like Christmas lights, and the effect is different too, although it's hard to capture in a photo. I hung them from the posts of an arbor in the backyard, which is probably 8' tall. The reflection was bright enough to cast a very subtle glow on the concrete below; enough that you could sit in a chair and probably see your way around, but probably not bright enough to read a book. The wires are thin and black, so they become invisible at night. I love looking outside at night because it looks like small stars are floating over it. That's the appeal of the blue-white light that you probably wouldn't have if they were yellowish.Lastly, the solar panels are very well-thought out. I was impressed, considering the price. The panel has a long string with plenty of slack, so you can mount it in a good spot for sunlight without dragging the lights with it. It also has an optional swivel mount and stake that you can use for more control.The lights were pre-charged so I could test them right out of the box. I haven't tested how long they stay lit. I've always found that varies anyway with solar lights. Regardless, as long as it lasts long enough for a party, it's fine. There's an on/off switch, so you don't have to let them run all night. There's also a blink feature, which reminded me of a run-down motel sign. The paperwork said it will help save energy, but I won't ever be using it.Overall, VERY, VERY pleased. I'll be ordering more for other parts of the house.

The media could not be loaded.    I am in love with these waterproof solar string lights!!! I have purchased 8 sets and very likely will be purchasing a lot more. What can't you love about awesome mood setting lights that don't need any power, except a free solar charge from the sun! I do plan on having some solar lights on hand if the power ever goes out. It would be smart to have some lights to see with or guide yourself by. These would definitely work seeing they are very bright and they do illuminate the space around them. While everyone else will have a huge electric bill from running their Christmas lights this holiday season, I will be grinning to myself about this one pleasure that I can enjoy that doesn't cost me more than the initial price I paid to buy them. $0 on my electric bill from them! I have had many compliments and inquiries about where to purchase them from family/ neighbors since I've put them up. The best thing is that I don't have to worry about plugging them in or anything! They just turn on as soon as it becomes dark outside. So every night as soon as the sun goes down, my beautiful solar string lights come on and set a very relaxing and calming setting to sit back and enjoy at the end of a hard day. I have noticed it really does help me relax and lifts my mood some looking at them. The lights also set an awesome atmosphere for entertaining, holidays, and to enjoy along with some great company and conversation. I have already purchased some of these for my father's yard, for his birthday, and I know without a doubt, that he is going to really love these little light as much as I do. I have had these out for a couple weeks now and they are still holding strong on their color and sun charge. Even on the rainy days, where the sun seems to hide away, these solar lights seem to be almost just as bright as they are on the really sunny days. I was extremely satisfy with how bold the colors are on these lights also. Many other solar lights and also non solar lights that I have purchased in the past, that I wanted a specific color, ended up either, not looking the color they were supposed to be, or tend to be a really dull shade of the color I wanted in the first place. Believe me, feeling excited about a purchase you made but only having disappointment is a real downer. You work hard for your money and you deserve to get what you believe you are paying for and I have been disappointed in purchases that I have made, too many times to count. I am changing from 5 stars to 1 because in just 3 months, six strands out of 8 don't work. when they worked I wrote this: so far I like these lights more than any other christmas lights I bought in the past and I am a christmas lights junky. I love the almost black wires which are soft and easy to work with. Seem very well made. Even the solar panel holders hold well the position of the panels. If charged in full summer sun for 4 hours, the lights stayed lit until morning. Ice bluer than the stars spectrum, but super crispy light, not muddy color as many led lights are. Our outside tree looks fantastic at night. I am ready to order more. I am amazed how such small panel and storage can handle 200 bright leds. I hope they will work for at least a year, so my 5 stars are based on only one week experience.

I bought these lights in hopes of putting them around my front porch to light it up at night when I come home late. While they do add a little glow to the area it is not any substantial light. They are almost more of a mood lighting than an actual light source. The light is also a little bit yellow and not a white light. Over all I do like them though as they have worked well. I have been out as late as 1 or 2 in the morning and they are still on and going from the charge the day before!! I may try getting a few more strings to see if I can get some more light on my porch.
