Well, they're certainly neon
I just used the back of a scrappy painting to swatch. I had a little trouble getting the paint to lay. I can't quite describe it. It's like it lifted much more than I like when applying. I almost had to drop it on like an ink or something. Perhaps it's because I used the back of a watercolor painting but I usually paint on the back so, idk. Id be interested to know what the pigments are. Not sure if it's the binder or the "pigments" themselves. Overall though, they are vibrant and pretty. I'm sure making neon isn't very natural anyway. So, overall, I'm giving 4 stars. I'm not over the moon about them but I'm not mad at them either. I like that they have the magnets and that I was able to salvage the wrapper and name stickers to put in the lid as a quick guide. My neon purple did come broken but I've mostly mended it with water. The orange feels a little chalky but not too bad.

Doesn’t behave like traditional watercolor
Several cakes were cracked and seemed very old perhaps. I put larger broken pieces back into the cake and watered them down. Several of the colors took the water well and came back together. The green and they yellow didn’t seem to come back together and remained gritty no matter how much water I added, didn’t seem to properly activate. I am not sure if this pallet was very old or if this is just how the paint is supposed to be.The colors I sampled, with the exception of yellow and green were very vibrant and behaved similarly to inktense color rather than watercolor. The color did not really move or mix on the paper. I will likely use these paints with ink drawings to add some color but will not use as watercolor.

The colors are vibrant and rich.
I love these paints. I’m not a professional and up to now my only reference point are the $2 watercolors from the Wally World. The paints come in a tin the size of an alto Id container. I was surprised by how small it is. However there is a LOT of paint in those little tins! These colors saturate well as you can see in the photo. I was concerned that they may not show well on the dark paper but they look great. Some people commented about the magnetic strip so I included photos to show how I used it. One side is sticky so that you can stick the trays on there so they don’t slide around. One strip was a little longer so I turned one of the tins longways to make sure all of the sticky tape was covered.I also used the labels that were on the outside of the paints to stick to the lid. The color label is sticky as well as the paint swatch logo label. I carefully peeled them off and cut down the logo label so it all fit on the inside of the lid. It’s really for knowing what to call the colors because it’s obvious which colors are which. There is one problem that I hope can be resolved. The color that is supposed to be ‘neon red’ looks exactly like the ‘neon rose pink’. You can see it in the photograph of the paint and the balls I painted on the card. I used the ‘rose pink’ on one and the ‘red’ on the other.Overall I love these colors. I love the small profile and I plan on buying more for sure! Well worth it!

Waxy surface maybe
There is some type of barrier on top of several of the paint pans - maybe I received an old set but cannot pick-up Neon Pinj, Neon yellow, and Neon Green well after having dropped water on top, letting sit for a minute or two, and swirling brush around in paint. The other colors are great.

Beautiful Colors! Are they really lightfast?
These are really beautiful colors. I love all the colors with the exception of the blue. Nothing wrong with it exactly. I just don't think it's as vibrant as the others The quality overall is very high and the metal tin is great and you can use them transparently or with less water easily get more opaque. The description says they're "lightfast," but I am not relying on that since everything i've ever read about neon pigments say they fade easily. In fact, I plan to leave the artwork shown, in a window for a while to do my own lightfast test. I'll update this review after the test is done. I'm gonna go for no more than 3 mos.

Frustrating to work with
Most of the colors in the neon set are frustratingly hard to reactivate. The pigment just does not want to get picked up by the brush. I thought it would be fun to play with some neon colors, but these are disappointing. Glad I got them on sale and will not be purchasing csy products again.

Unbelievable at this price point.
The paints came in one day and 8 paints for 12 dollars of this quality is unbelievable. I worked hard to show the colors at full strength on the left hand image and the right hand image shows them worked. They were smooth, leveled well and combined into other colors well no complaints at all I wish these were around when I first started painting. Both paintings are on cold press paper.

Not great
I’m really disappointed in these. I ordered the metallic set and loved those, but these are not highly pigmented at all. Not sure if I can return them since they are opened and I’m unable to find a way to contact the seller.
