I purchased this set of iron-on patches to fix up a pair of (brand new!) leggings that my daughter inadvertently stuck a pair of scissors through on the first wear. Unfortunately for the leggings the hole was around 8-10mm wide and yes, it probably could have been sewn up but I'm not particularly handy with a needle so I decided to try this method. Originally I intended to simply patch it from the inside (the instructions say that the glue will disappear with washes so will not be visible) however I was weary about this as I was concerned that it would simply stick to whatever surface I placed it on during the adhering process (my ironing board!).What worked was cutting out a small circle in the (perfectly!) matched colour, placing that on the swatch to make an identical sized circle and then ironing both on at the same time, either side of the hole. Essentially they are adhered to one another plus the original leggings. This seems to have worked spectacularly well. I followed the instructions, possibly held the iron on a little longer than suggested. I have washed the pair of leggings countless times since (at 40 degrees) and the repair is still holding up nicely.This pack is great as there are some lovely colours included - if you want to be really creative you can be. You just need to make sure you have a small pair of sharp fabric scissors to cut accurately. Would recommend these.
