Good product
One came broken so how about adding packing material? Good idea I think. Still giving five start because of the value and I think it works really well.

Great quality, poor packaging
These fire bricks are good quality. Perfect for my needs. I got lucky as they arrived with no damage despite the poor/nonexistent protection for shipping.

can take the heat
installed yesterday the bricks stayed cool (relative) and the steel got cherry red. super easy to cut to fit with a hand saw.

High Quality, High Temperature Bricks
The media could not be loaded. I'm building a DIY kiln for clay firing and chose these bricks to make a majority of the structure. They are rated for up to cone 9 which is far higher than I need to go, so they should do fine. These things are inherently brittle and fragile, but mine came tightly packed and intact. A few edges may have some nicks, but it does not affect the performance of the material. The dimensions are spot on and each brick weighs about three pounds. They are extremely dusty which I assume is silica and alumina dust. I blew mine off with some compressed air to get them dust-free. Do this outdoors and wear a mask rated for dust. Silica is not good for your lungs. The formulation is soft enough to be cut and formed with tools designed to cut wood. However, again, it produces incredible amounts of dust so do it outside with respiratory protection. The insulation value is great. I set up a butane torch and ran it for about five minutes pointed at the brick (see the video). The front was over 1,000 F (where my thermal probe maxes out) but the rear (through 2.5 inches of material) was room temp. There does not seem to be any "burn off" for binders, so they are ready to use right out of the box.I'm still building the kiln and will update this review if I run into any problems, but so far I'm really impressed with these fire bricks. They seem like a quality product. So much better than ceramic fiber insulation (at least for my application).

Extremely light fire bricks
Not the most durable but easy to cut for sure. Not sure how it will hold up long term. The jury is out.

Product is good but not packed well and broke during shipping
5 out of 6 fire bricks arrived broken - see picture. The box was not labeled 'Fragile' so it was mishandled during shipping and so when I opened to box the bricks were badly damaged.Very unfortunate as the bricks look very good otherwise, exactly what I needed for jewellery soldering operation.
