2020 Gun Camera for Clays

Used this for a while, but now, with the latest update of the software, it is really so much more useable. Small thing, but they added the ability to pause and restart the recording. Before, it was a bit troublesome to turn the camera on and off, but now, super convenient, really made it a whole new device. Now its so usable to capture just the shooting, pauses and restarts really easy. And, they improved the crosshair, so many will really appreciate that. Amazing what improvements can be made with just software. Thanks guys!!!!

The item I received was defective and customer support could not help in any way. Manufacture support doesn't cover the item shipping or any over the phone support to avoid shipping. Bad experience would not recommend to anyone.

The quality of video this camera produces is very useable. Ease of operation and mounting is very easy. However, where the problem comes in is with the operating system and reviewing your videos in slow mode, frame advance, and freeze frame. You need a second program to do this. The camera video is only useful for training when you can review it in slow motion to see what your doing wrong/right. Apple products will not allow you to do this because you will need to save the video first and then access it with the second program. Being able to review the video right after you shoot is were the benefits of having a camera comes into play. You can't do that with this camera.I also experienced an issue with the camera. It worked well the first time I used it. The second time it only recorded half of the stations. The third time it only worked a few minutes before it cut off and would not turn back on. My friend purchase one with the same issue.I really wanted this camera to work. It has a lot of potential and with some programming it should be awesome!

Great product! Only a few drawbacks. Not as much zoom as I would like, but not a show stopper. Great for the skeet field, harder to see the actual target on the Sporting Clays field, BUT still a very useful tool when review how you shot. Definitely download the VLC software to view the videos. The movie viewer with Windows 10 does a poor job at present. The VLC software will allow you to control the playback speed and even go frame to frame.You really don't even notice you have it mounted due to where it is located and i was expecting to "feel" the weight but I did not.Update 07/12/2018- Having to return for repair a second time. Will update how they handle it afterwards.

Great camera and with the latest update (9/17) even better. Very clear picture so that you can see the shot pattern. You are able to see if a missed shot was to the left/right/high/low. The pause feature is great and I like the option for a zoom lens. Tachyon's customer service is outstanding.

Went goose hunting with cam on my shotgun. Had it in standby mode till the geese came in. Got 6 and a half minutes of video before battery died that was fully charged. Temperature outside was 27 degrees.

I use this camera for Trap shooting and it is really neat. Simple to install, simple to operate and viewing the videos is easy. I had a issue the second time I used the camera where it would not turn "Off" unless I poked the recessed "re-boot" button...but I think it was "user error" as I have not been able to replicate the issue again. Camera is light weight and protected well in the metal mount. You do not feel/notice it out on the end of the shotgun barrel at all. When reviewing the footage, it is easy to see why the clay was missed. Tachyon recommends the VLC Viewer for watching the videos, but any viewer (QuickTime for example) that handles .mov files will work. I have a Mac, iPad and iPhone and downloading and watching them is a breeze. I am definitely enjoying the Tachyon GunCam.

Great camera for helping on shooting. I wish the adapter for the barrel was easier to install and remove. Maybe a clamp style will do the tricksimilar to the shotkam.
