Started out strong but faded to not useful.
I have had mine for over 8 months. I thought I was having sleep problems at night and bought this because it would show heart rate charts and breath rate charts. I bought it installed it and started using it and it helped me figure out my problems and adjust my sleep habits to avoid problems. So far so good....Then the sensor no longer would stay in place (king size bed). Hard sensor had to be on the bed to reach me. It kept getting folded or falling out. So when that happened I would not get our of bed just to fix it I would just not use it and then forget about needing to fix it. When the adhesive wore out and if the sensor was over the edge of the bed it would eventually fall to the floor. Since the convenience factor dropped I started measuring less.Next I stopped seeing heart rate charts for the night. This was the ONE feature that motivated me to spend significant money on this device because it was the only device in the price range I could find. Without it I was now less motivated to use it. If this is a hardware problem that is another negative.Next, the smart measuring feature comes out. It requires the purchase of a new device. Do they do anything for loyal customers like offering a discount (even if small)? Nope. No apparent regard for customer loyalty. We are no better than a new customer.I have reached out to work with them so we will see where this goes and if they've figured out that customer satisfaction matters. I will update this review if my experience changes. I do have hope. However, the market has a lot more competitors (e.g. FitBit) now and feature differentiation is important. If I have to pay full price for a new device then I have a choice where to spend that money if there is no discount for staying loyal to Beddit. No loyalty TO customers usually reaps no loyalty FROM customers.Oct 11-16: Contacted support and I confirmed for them that the unit is not working.Nov 16: Beddit: "Unfortunately it seems that your Beddit is suffering from a hardware malfunction. We are sorry for this unfortunate event! We will send you a replacement unit!"Nov 24: Beddit: "We thought you'd like to know that we shipped your items."Nov 24: I checked the Fedex tracking info status is "Shipment information sent to FedEx" on Nov 18.Jan 12: No update on the Fedex package. I still so not have a working unit.Feb 1: Emailed Beddit letting them know it never shipped.Feb 10: New unit arrived. They sent me the newest model. I will hook it up tonight.

Non-contact is great, but no way to export data
I have used and tested several different sleep sensors/trackers. The Beddit is not my favorite but it does have some benefits.PROS:- Non contact: The Beddit system sits underneath your sheets. You don't have to remember to put it on at night. While your sleeping you don't even know its there.- Tracks sleep stages: Its nice to see how long it took me to fall asleep in the morning and how many times I was awakened.- Intuitive app: The system is easy to setup and use.CONS:- Wired: You have to keep the system plugged into the wall which is ok, but you also have to keep your phone plugged in. The system will not work if your phone is not plugged into a charging station (wall or computer).- Tape moves/creases: If you move around at night like many people (40-60 times a night) the tape can shift and crease. If it creases too much it can be felt through the sheets- No data output: It would be nice to have control of the sleep data. I'd love to be able to track it myself on my computer and look at different aspects of my sleep. I couldn't find a way to export my data. The sleep tracker works. The non-contact format is better than older systems like the ZEO. But the ZEO let me export and download my data. With something as personal as sleep I really think that having complete access to your data should be a requirement.

Could use some work
Having read through the bad reviews, I will say that I did my best to avoid the pitfalls they described. I keep my iPhone plugged in at night anyway, so that's not a problem. It connects to the Beddit about 80% of the time. The other 20% requires me to unplug and replug the Beddit, which thus far fixes the issue. It seems to do an excellent job of monitoring sleep patterns. Because I have hard-to-detect nocturnal seizures, this is a handy tool to see how I'm doing. Now the negatives. The alarm is awful. First I tried the "smart" alarm. It does a great job of waking "gently," but if you're in a deep sleep, it goes off extremely loudly, causing one to jump. Why couldn't it start softly and increase in volume until it prompts a response? Seriously, I had a phone ten years ago that could do that. The other problem is that sometimes it randomly registers having pressed snooze when you don't even touch the phone. Turning off the smart alarm doesn't solve the automatic snooze. I've switched back to my regular alarm instead. The other issue I have is with the fact that no matter how long it takes me to fall asleep, it complains. It makes sense if I spend an hour tossing and turning. It doesn't make sense when I fall asleep in 22 minutes, which I would consider reasonable. At no point am I going to just pass out immediately upon having started up the app. I also wish it indicated the periods of snoring like it does for restless sleep, although that's really just curiosity more than anything.

No Data Export, No HRV, No trending graph
The unit itself works pretty well and appears to be accurate. I also like that I don't have to wear something and it is just there in my bed. The app on the other hand is a bit disappointing. The website said that it recorded Heart Rate Variability(HRV) which was the main reason I wanted this, but it does not. The only thing you get is some proprietary "sleep score", time slept, heart rate, and respiration rate. No HRV. You also cannot download your sleep data from the app or even view your data over time in the app. It is just one night at a time and the graph of your sleep is hard to read and not all that informative. Also, submitting a support ticket is a challenge. They use a captcha graphic that is impossible to read and and you cannot submit the request until you get it right. I tried it half dozen different times with no success and ended up giving up.
