AIT Art Select Paint Brushes - Set of 4 Synthetic Sable Brushes - Handmade in USA - Compact Travel Set

I’m sorry, this is kind of embarrassing, but I have quite a few travel brush sets. I think I should be a professional tester. I just really like trying products. I got this set in 2018 and have to admit, I haven’t used them much. I bought a second set just to have another case for my set of black velvet silver travel brushes. Now coming back to them in 2023 and having been painting for about 12 yrs, I find them especially way better than the expensive Da Vinci I bought in 2015. I don’t understand the problems people have had. These fit very tight in the handles and are one of the most comfortable of the travel brushes along with the black velvet. Some of the other handles are too heavy and although the brushes are nice, it makes you want to paint without the handle. Also, the price was great and made in the USA? I think it is a wonderful value. I wonder if they would have a set with different shapes? The set I bought just yesterday, Fuijmuli had a flat and a cats tongue. Luckily the horrible smell has dissipated from the genuine leather case which is also the best and thinnest of the cases and yet, no sizes printed on the outside and the handles are much heavier. So, you see, there are many choices but this is one of the best.

This is a well-made product. For example, the handles are constructed from a seemingly high grade yet durable light weight metal. Furthermore, the carrying case for the brushes is also well-made.Although the overall quality is good, I had a problem with my initial order. One of the brushes (size #2) arrived defective. For instance, the tip of the brush was poorly shaped; some of the hairs had a blunt end and were not tapered like they should be; and there was a chunk of missing hairs which created a gap in the base of the hair shaft. It was clearly defective. I immediately alerted the company about the issue via email and I received a response within 24 hours (well done). AIT apologized for the defect and immediately sent me a complete and new set at no charge. AIT did a great job handling the problem. I could not have asked for better service.In summary, I was impressed by their product and service. I am a professional artist. I recommend this product to any plein air artist whether you are a beginner or professional. I have not had a chance to fully test this product outdoors but I expect they will perform well for a synthetic hair brush. Thank you AIT.

This is actually the second time I've bought these brushes. They are fantastic for the price!!! The brushes always come to a point and hold water and paint very well. I have a couple of higher end brush sets but these seem to be more more frequent go-to's. Now, I'm mostly a sketcher and these also work very well for plein air. The body/case is strong and feels great and hold the 'head' fairly decent. The only thing is that when converting to brush mode, the body could be a little tighter when holding the brush part. Other than that, these brushes can take some abuse and still be ready to go at any time!! The added case is a lovely little bonus and makes the overall look of it nice and sharp!! I would like to see a nice set of watercolour flats and filberts from this company if they can make them to the same standard.

I have other, more expensive travel brush kits, but some of them are so expensive, I feel weird leaving them in my bag, subject to the tender mercies of the average knucklehead out walking the street (some people will take ANYTHING, even if they don't know what it is, or how to use it).So, not only is this kit inexpensive, it works. I don't expect these brushes to behave like WN Series 7s, and they do not, but neither are they so cheap that they're a handicap to my technique. I'd replace them at once if they became lost or stolen. Good stuff.

Let me start with the positive, the size of the brushes are perfect. The brushes them self are actually nice, but paint that they used is horrible. Where you pull and insert the brush the paint chips immediately leaving you seeing the silver underside. While this is not a show stopper it does reflect on the quality and thought process the company put into the design of the brushes casing. If they used a black paint or plastic that would do this would be 10 stars for me. It would of been better if they did not paint the casing at all and left the silver casing that’s underneath then you want have black paint chips on you finger or perhaps getting in your paint. Just saying this company could have an extraordinary product, but when the customer pulls out the end of the brush and inserts it in the barrel for the very first time it looks already used and beat up. Want to give this five stars but just look at my pic, and that’s not showing the other nicked paint of the part that is inside the barrel.

These brushes do not fit tightly in the cap and fall while your using them. Don’t waste your money.

Soft, springy bristles and painted brass handles. They feel great and hold plenty of water/paint. Nice weight in the hand even though they fold up so small. One of them is a little loose but it's not too bad. I could squish it a little with pliers if it got too annoying. So far so good. Made in the USA supposedly so that was the deciding factor. Hopefully it keeps people like me employed somewhere!

These are alright. I mainly picked them because they're made in the USA. The brushes are fine and the carrying case is good, but one of the brushes doesn't assemble very tightly. I'll probably need to wrap the end in tape for a good fit.Overall I'd purchase again.
