This is 18-3 cord not 14-3 OEM like mine!
This is an 18-3 cord! It Is not same as my PC6902 Type 4 OEM power cord.My OEM cord is 14-3 and ten feet in length. This cord is only six feet long which is why they can get away with using only 18-3 cord. Six feet is the max length you can go with with a 10 amp motor. I always use 12-3 extensions, so it should not matter, but I am still leery of the smaller gauge cable. For the moment I am giving it five stars, but if this cord gets hot, or even warm I'm going to downgrade it. Just hope PC is right on doing this. I know several makers are sizing down their power cords in length so they can down-size on the copper wire gauge for money savings. Just in case, I am saving my old cord and will buy a strain relief for it if needed. I would have done that instead had I known they had down-sized the cable length and gauge. All I really needed was the strain relief anyway.

Exact replacement
This was an exact replacement for the cord on my PC model 6902 type 5 router motor. It is a 16/3 cord, the same conductor size and length as the original. Another review suggests that it is shorter and has smaller conductors than the original, but perhaps their equipment was different.Installation was relatively easy. Butt connectors are not included, so you'll need to supply those.Take a photo or two as you disassemble and you'll be able to reassemble the unit with no problems.I've included a photo of mine in case you skipped this step! some of the screws are T20 torx .

An Improvement Over the Original
My Old 6902 Router had a short strain relief on the cord. Which is right where it broke. This replaced it perfectly and had a longer Strain Relief so maybe it will last longer. The connections are easy to get to and just crimp connectors. If you don't have a crimp tool try soldering.

love my porter cable tools
love my porter cable tools, but I've had them long enough the cords were starting to crack. Note that the part needs to be connected with a wire nut or in my case with solder and heat shrink tubing.
