Holy smoke! I have modified offroad trucks and overlanding vehicles, none of which were turbos, and tuning/chips didn't have much effect on performance. ....I purchased a used mk6 GTI, my first car mind you @ 42. I told myself I wouldn't modify it. Yeah right. I have a drop in K&N filter and this Chipwerke piggyback. The install took about 45 minutes for me, just because I have fat fingers, and reaching the sensors to plug into proved a challenge....smaller hands would've been nice. I got it installed, mounting the brains on the air filter housing, away from heat and moving parts. Ziptie the wires, and you're done!Now, the fun part. The difference in acceleration is night and day. I haven't had it dynoed, but I'm guessing 50 plus hp and trq. It's smooth, kick-ass, power. MY BEST ENGINE UPGRADE TO ANY OF MY VEHICLES. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.As far as gas mileage, I haven't noticed much difference....but I'm in the throttle alot.Go get a Chipwerke. I'm sold.Aaron

This is NOT easy to install as described in product description. I bought it for vm passat and i got audi instruction. Also I found some blog saying the dealer can detect the engine got modified and will void d warranty. APR+ offers powertrain warranty which is safer.

I bought one over two years ago for my 2014 Mk6 GTI. This tuner makes a huge difference in power. I am not mechanically inclined and was concerned about installation, which turned out to be a piece of cake (easier to put the car on ramps and get to the MAP sensor from underneath). It's equivalent to a Stage 1 tune in terms of performance and it really is safe. I think it works by tricking the turbo into thinking the air is colder and thinner than it is, so it works harder. Clever. Love the product and love tech support. Wishing Chipwerke success with this and their other products!
