So far so good
Okay for starters, let me see if I can give the advice and suggestions I wish had been on here for me lol. I am a bit of a natural green thumb (inherited from my lovely grandparents I suppose) albeit I sometimes have issues growing things from SEEDS. Anyway, I read that maybe they should go in water 24 hours prior, or frozen for 2 weeks prior, so on and so forth. I did both of those and I also planted them straight out of the bag. I read they needed to be in "sandy soil" so I even mixed some with sand lol. Anyway. All of the seeds that I put in right out of the bag didn't really do anything. It says they need good contact with the soil but.. not really covered. I tried that a few different ways also. The set that I placed in water for 24 hours and also the set that I froze inside of a damp paper towel inside of a plastic container .. both sprouted! Right in the designated time frame as well! Now, I live in MS. I planted these maybe a month ago (July). It's been over 100F here. Needless to say if you have similar outdoor conditions; idk if that's going to be a good option. Mine have been inside, which I keep around 70F. I also keep them right next to a window which has light in it all day (photo for reference added). The window faces the W/NW so its sun facing all day, but mild/moderate and not hours and hours of full blast sunlight. I'm not really plant literate, as I tend to do it all intuitively and it usually works out - this is the first time I've been so meticulous with directions lol. Anyway, I poked some holes with a chopstick, maybe 1 inch deep and dropped a couple seeds in there. Those did not do anything. Both sets of poppies you see in the photo were just pressed into the soil gently. If I covered them up in any way at all they did not sprout. I did water the soil first, and pressed them (lightly but firm enough for 'good contact') and they all came up. So my suggestion to anyone like me is : either freeze them for exactly 2 weeks or soak them in water (I just used a plastic sauce rammekin) for 24 hours first.. and then get you some nice wet soil, and lightly press them into it, and set them somewhere where they will get plenty of (but not overbearing) light. Try not to let the soil get totally powderkeg dry but don't over water it and keep it soggy, either. I had a plastic dome over the ones in the larger circle on the left for a week just to keep moisture balanced until they sprouted. SO FAR SO GOOD! I also ran images of them through a plant identification app and yes, they ARE what they say they are. (Pic included). I will try my best to remember to come back and update this review when they finally grow up and bloom!! Thanks for reading and I hope this helps! 🙏🏻 God bless :)

Poppy seeds germinated easily
I have my doubts that there were really 1,000 poppy seeds in the bag, however the germination rate was very high. I sowed some in Houston, some in Mexico city and some in New Orleans. Next year I think I'll buy a larger quantity if I don't get a bunch of seeds from my own pods.

A slow start BUT
I purchased 2 packs and planted in 3 areas. 2 plots look great so far however the 3rd area never grew. The Bonus is the wind picked some seeds up and moved them to a 4th plot that grew faster and larger than the others so far.

Awesome
I just hope they grow!!!

Only got about a third of them to bloom😪
Maybe my soil sucks, but everything else grows fantastic, just a little fewer than I planted if these.

Zero germination after significant effort. Stay away.
I read their guide, I read several other resources about growing P.S. Here’s what I did.Upon receipt, i took three dampened paper towels, sprinkled the seeds over them liberally. Folded the paper towels loosely and placed them in ziplock baggies, the baggies then went into my freezer (set at 4 def F) for about three weeks. Every third day I would take the plastic baggies out of the freezer and leave them in the sunlight for 2-3 hours, then return them to the fridge for an hour before replacing them in the freezer. After one week I took half of the seeds from bag one and planted sowed them in my garden, which has very sandy rich soil, Everything grows Ike magic in my garden, seriously. After two weeks I planted the rest of bag one. I sowed bag two at the three week mark, and finally after 5 weeks, I sowed bag three. We are now at 8-9 weeks, soil has been kept lightly damp, and I’ve got absolutely ZERO germination of any of the poppy seeds. Don’t waste your money. These seeds suck.
