Great Recipes But Shy on Mechanical Instruction for Beginners
While the recipes are very unique and imaginative, they do not utilize ingredients that are commonly found in the daily routines of cooking. So, pre- planning is called for in your shopping at the supermarket, or if you want to make a special trip to the organic food suppliers at a relatively greater expense. Our biggest objection to this book is that it assumes that you are going to supply yourself with the ancillary hand held slicers, peelers et. al. and it does nothing to describe how one really becomes proficient in their related usage. Some descriptions of the Paderno cutters and their results would be helpful because the single sheet that came with the Spiralizer does not help the first time user either. A reference to such publications could be of great help by having a bibliography or index of what to stock and what to avoid. This is a good case of proving that the old adage " Experience is the best teacher....it gives you the task first and the lesson afterwards" comes into play, and one is left with some misgivings about how often you want to drag the machine out of the cabinet and struggle with its relationship to what part of what recipe it is going to utilize so that a success rate is ongoing. Not everyone is going to have the desire or need to have all the accessory devices that are referenced.

Looking for more detail and clarity
I tried the Paderno Spiralizer for the first time by making the recipe for Yellow Squash Pasta with Sun-dried Tomatoes. The spiralizer itself was very easy to use, but I found the recipe a bit confusing. As someone who tracks nutritional values of what I eat, I was perplexed when the recipe said it serves 2-4, but gave exact nutritional values for a single serving--was that one of four servings or one of two? The recipe called for "4 cups of yellow squash (4-6 stalks)" and I selected small-to-medium squashes, but even three of them yielded a lot more than 4 cups. And how many ounces is "one package of sun-dried tomatoes"? There was also no guidance on how long to cut the continuous strands of squash that emerged from the spiralizer. I enjoyed the dish, and will try others in this book. Updates may follow.

Tips and Ideas :)
I have been cooking for over 60 years and the simple tips and recipe ideas (I never actually follow a recipe) in this book made a very positive change in our meals. After 49 years of marriage things can get a bit "stale" and being able to add freshly sliced and crispy things to our meals (for 2) without dragging out the heavy duty stuff is great. Spiralized red onion goes in a zip lock bag and keeps well for a few days and adds so much to a sandwich, salad, soup, omlet or stir fry. Thanks for the extra tips.

Valuable Resource
Some other reviewers have commented that only about half the book is recipes, and that's true. However, the information found here for what to spiralize, how to prep it, how to use it is more thorough than any of the other spiralizer books I have. A great resource for anyone just beginning the spiral journey. Nutrition information is thorough. As with several other spiralizer cookbooks, there are a few too many recipes with very high sodium content. That said, there are still plenty of recipes in here that I will use.

No way to screw this up
I've tried almost every veggie and dish combo, and everything comes out great. Originally I was looking to buy the Spiralizer, but it was on backorder. So got this instead. I may have liked the anchoring method better on that one, as the rubber sections on this one are sometimes hard to lift up if your hands are wet or oily from cooking. But the blades seem to work the same from what I see watching the Inspiralize videos, which is what motivated me to get a machine in the first place. Very easy to clean.

Good recipes - need nutritional information
These recipes are good. They are weight loss friendly and work well with the Paderno Vegetable Slicer. I gave this a four star because the recipes are straight forward and nutritionally sound, but there isn't any nutritional information with each recipe. Yes, I can figure it out, but nutritional information seems to be standard with most cookbooks.

Disappointing
Not what I was expecting. I liked the critique of the different types of spiralizers. I like colored pictures and wished it had more recipes and better instructions on the use of the spiralizer. This was my first excursion into this type of device.

Two Stars
Colour pics would improve it - no excuses in this age of instant printing.

I like the varitey of the recipes
I like the varitey of the recipes, however the 'look' of the book leaves something to be desired! The inside pages look as though they are photo copies instead of print. Why aren't any of the extensive on line colour photos in this book? There are only the photos on the back cover.

would have liked pictures of the meals and perhaps some of the steps for cooking. But, I knew they wouldn't be there when I bought it.
