UbisoftAssassin's Creed: The Essential Guide

I love all things Assassin's Creed, especially the art books and Visual History book. While I really enjoyed reading through all the interesting info, I think more attention could have been paid to the design aesthetic of the book itself. Ubisoft should have taken the opportunity to release a more visually and aesthetically stylized Essential Guide, instead of what just looks like "a video game book" - which is a lot of collaged images (like the cover), game shots and marketing images. This is not to say that I didn't enjoy what was included, and there are a lot of interesting timelines and other diagrams.I am a huge fan of the mythology and am very happy to have something that consolidates it in one place.I think if Ubisoft would have used more interesting visual and design aesthetics (like cues from their Assassin's Creed Council website, for example) it would have been a much better and unique book. This is the reason I give the book 3 stars instead of 5.

I'm not a gamer but the movie "Assassin's Creed" certainly sparked my interest in the universe wherein history and fantasy seem to coexist and even blend. I'm a novelist who writes historical fantasy and have found a wealth of not only information concerning the different eras in which these games exist but the compelling characters that populate them. It struck me in the same way as the movie-TV series "Highlander" did, if one could lend one's imagination to such characters going about their clandestine wars in the past and in real time.

Beautifully illustrated and full of additional information on the characters, ships, weapons, etc. Definitely a must-read for any fan of the Assassin's Creed series of games. The only downside to the book is it becomes outdated as soon as new AC titles are released, but I find myself rereading it over and over.

I like the product very much and it is a great addition to my collector's items for the Assassin's Creed series.

If you are a fan of the game this was an interesting book. Quality photos and nice information about the various aspects of the game.

This is a nice thing someone can get for their collection.

The wife loved this. She's a huge AC fan and the linkage that Ubi provides between actual historical events and the game is stellar. A great gift for any Assassin's Creed fan.

El libro tiene buen tamaño, pero la calidad de la impresión deja mucho que desear, pues ésta es inferior a la de cualquier revista y tiene un acabado mate tan opaco que parece que imprimieron bolantes. Hay un abismo de comparación con otros libros de este tipo Cómo los que publica Dark Horse. Muy mal por ubisoft y su más que lamentable control de calidad. Exprimen ésta serie y nuestros bolsillos a más no poder.
